Dear Courtney,

You have one problem though .....you are a sinner. The Bible states, "Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezekiel 18:4).

The "death" that is spoken of here is not physical death, but eternal damnation (second death). Because of your sins you will have to endure this terrible punishment. However, if you can find a substitute that can "stand in" for you, then you can avoid the terrible punishment. The only substitute that can do this for you is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the God-Man. He came to this miserable planet to pay the sin debt for wretched, vile, rebellious sinners whom He had chosen before the foundation of the world.

Perhaps, you might be one of those "elect" ones. The Bible says, "For many are called, but few are chosen." May I suggest that you start reading the Bible slowly and prayerfully. Ask God to have mercy on you. Keep reading the Bible and ask the Lord to help you be more obedient to His word. This will not assure you of being saved, but the Lord will know that you desire His salvation.

Revelation 22:13-16—
13 I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
14 Blessed are those who keep His Laws, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
15 For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshipers of gods (elohim) and everyone who professes to love, yet practices breaking the Law.

No, it isn't irony. It's a failure to keep God's commandments! The things that make you "nice, fun, happy and lovable" are based solely on your own personal MORALITY, not on God's requirements. It's good that you're such a personable individual, but without God in your life, you're saying to Him in effect, "Look! I didn't ask you to die for me!" God SACRIFICED Himself the personage of Jesus Christ, so that all we would have to do is ASK HIM for salvation that we couldn't possibly have on our own and your "attitude" spits that offer back in His face! Read the OT Law, especially from Exodus through Deuteronomy and see what the penalties for various types of sin were under the Law and see how "ironic" it is that God's CHOSEN PEOPLE could be punished so severely for something that may or may not seem completely innocent in your "nice, fun, happy, lovable, MORAL world"!

I know that I am a Christian but I believe that all people have that opportunity because I believe that no one is beyond being allowed to heaven because it is a gift and all we have to do is be gracious about it. If you are nice, happy and loveable then I believe you have that opportunity to get there.

Good people don't get in to heaven. Redeemed people get in to heaven. How would you ever know you were enough? Who would set the arbitrary line? Would you ever feel secure in your walk? God requires perfection, are you perfect?
Salvation via works is an absolutely false concept. How will you EVER know that you have done enough good, or if it will balance out the bad?

The truth is, before you accept Jesus as Savior, none of your good deeds are taken in to account, only the sin you have committed in violation to the law. After you accept Jesus as your Savior, your sins are deleted from the record and only the good you do in the Spirit remains. (1 Cor. 3)

You cannot buy your way into heaven with tithes, keeping of traditions or rules, rituals, singing, being nice, fun, happy, or lovable. THAT is why Jesus had to come and die in our place.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.

2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

In Revelation, it refers to "outside are the dogs, sorcerers, whoremongers, murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie". Several times throughout scripture, the word "dog(s)" is mostly used to mean unbelievers. Why do you think that John used the word "dogs" as opposed to cats, ponies, or alligators? Why would God exclude "man's best friend", whose friendship is very Christlike and selfless? The book of Isaiah tells us that there will be wolves in Heaven, so why would dogs be excluded? All this should tell us that the word "dogs" used in Revelation 22:15 does not refer to our canine companions, but to unbelievers - which fits the context better. Notice that he is listing different kinds of sinners.

No, it's not an irony. It's a contradiction. If you don't believe in God, then, Why ask if you will be allowed into heaven, if according to you, there is no God?

It doesn't say that you CAN'T get into heaven without believing in him, it only says it is a lot harder. It also says that if you are shown the word and reject it* that God will exclude you. But lack of belief in Christ or God isn't necessarily a one-way ticket to hell. It just means that you have no assurances.

Access into Heaven is by God's Grace alone. Jesus' death is supposed to be our assurance that if we follow him, we will get in. But nowhere does God ever say that if you are a good person who does not follow Christ or God that you'll burn in hell. It also doesn't say you won't.

---------------

* By 'shown' it is generally interpreted as being well-educated into what you are rejecting...not just saying 'no thanks,' to someone who asks, 'do you want to be saved?'. Meaning you were a Christian who left the faith.

Have you been to heaven, Did God himself told you that?

You don't believe in him but you believe the idea that God himself will not let you into heaven, weird

Good deeds and moral living don't get anyone to heaven. It's even easier than that... since Jesus did the hard part by taking the punishment for our sins, all we need to do is accept his gift of grace. We can't do enough "good works" to earn our way to heaven, but through Jesus we have a free pass.
