Heyyy there! i am ALMOST 18 & just got back from my doctors the other day for a basic physical. My weight was a modest 227... My waist was but a 46 inches, chest 44, i am 5'10. AND have a BP of 142/101 & my body fat % is 31!

It was about a YEAR or so ago when i decided that i wanted to GAIN weight not LOSE it! At the time i was around 161 lbs. & was quite thin. So i decided to "pack on the pounds" per say...

Now about a year, plenty of pounds, inches & marks later. i would like to know what to do? For the past few months or so i have not tried to gain any weight... Nor have i tried to lose any... I've pretty much stayed the same.

As i speak i wear a comfortable 38 jeans! i have a fair share of "sexy" stretchy marks on my love handles/hips & quite a few on my inner thighs too... i also struggle to come to terms w/ the fact i cant do ONE situp!

Anywaaay, any help or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank ya in advance,
~E!

(Honestly i got the urge to keep getting fatter)

I'm surprised the doctor didn't counsel you about your weight. The doc is the one you should be listening to about this. Your weight and BP and BMI are high!

Well it kinda sounds like you didn't gain it as muscle. What about doing some exercise and weight lifting. It doesn't mean you will loose a ton of weight and drop back to 160's, but if will mean a healthier lifestyle and replacing the fat with muscles. Look at it this way. It is easier to make changes at 18 then at 30. The older you get the more your metabolism slows down and the harder it will be to be healthy. Think long term and you will know what to do.

The day stretch marks become "sexy" is the day I pose for Playboy! (Never going to happen!)

The scale doesn't matter. Do you feel healthy? It's great that you are comfortable with your body and have a decent self-esteem, but what do you want? If you don't get active, you are setting yourself up for some serious medical problems. The extra weight puts strain on your entire body. Plus, it's hard to be "sexy" and good in bed with a big old belly sticking out!

For an 18-year-old, your blood pressure is appalling. I have had weight problems all my life, but my blood pressure never hit that level until I was 47 years old. I can tell you from experience that the older you get, the harder it is to lose weight. Please go back to your healthy original weight before things snowball out of control for you. You still have a chance to become a lean, healthy person at this point in your life.

31% BMI is considered "obese" and is grounds to be on a medical weight loss program.

I think that you should work on eating healthy, getting you BMI below the 30% range, and excersizing regularly. The most important thing is being healthy, not neccessarily being thin or looking a certain way.

There is no reason why you can't start up a fitness routine. At 17, you are developed enough to get fit and keep fit. No one should be telling you to be getting fat, just pack that bulk on if you wanna build up muscle, and by bulk I mean protein. I joined the Army at 17.

lose some weight. technically speaking, you are obese. At 190 lbs you would still be overweight, but doing a little better. A good, healthy weight for your height would be 150-175 lbs. check out this site if ya dont believe me.

The main thing I'm concerned about is your blood pressure. Did your doctor give you medication? That's WAY too high. I really don't have much weight loss advice for you since I'm about 100 pounds overweight myself.

as for body fat you are not doing to bad but i would start and exercise routine that will just get you in shape. cardio (running) situps pushups etc. and i am a mom so i am sure your stretch marks are not as bad as mine and my husband still loves me dont be vain over these. also drink alot of water you might loose some weight but it will just be bringing your body to a better porportion. if i were you i would shoot for something like 28% body fat. good luck.

your blood pressure and bmi are both dangerous. you need to get on a healthy diet and lose some weight . cut out fried fatty foods and most of your salt. you are at risk for a heart attack and heart disease. take care of your body its the only one you get. the way you are eating and gaining weight is dangerous
