find the check in counter for your airline. Check your bags and get your boarding pass. Then look for your gate number and go to security nearest those gates. At security, show your boarding pass and ID. Be prepared to take any liquids you have on hand - lipstick, lotion, water, etc. and put into a plastic baggy. Anything over 3 ounces will be thrown out. Take your shoes off and anything metal that might make the metal detector go off like change in your pockets, belt, etc. Once through security - put all your clothes back on and head to your gate. They will make announcements for when they are ready to board your flight.

You need to check in for your flight so they know you are there. make sure you are at the airport about 2 hours before your flight and just go straight to the information desk or any airport staff member... they will be happy to help you with any questions you may have

Well, first go INSIDE the airport to the check-in counter, and for anything else you can ask anyone there. Travellers love to help others.
Ask as many questions as you want to the airline's clerk. They will help you if you need.
Don't worry.

You get to your airlines check in location. You can either do the self check in or let an employee take care of you. You'll give them checked in luggage and keep your carry on.

Then you get to go through security. Take off your shoes, take out your laptop and open it and put it in a separate bin. Take all things out of your pockets (you can hold your tickets and drivers license) and go through the security scanner.

You may or may not be selected for a random search. Follow their directions.

Put shoes back on, stuff in pockets, head to your gate.

And wait. Get a bottle of water and a snack.

Check in for your flight. You'll check your luggage, and they'll give you your boarding pass.

Make sure to get there early enough according to their rules so there is enough time for them to check your luggage and for you to go through any searches. If you're flying overseas, you'll have to be there even earlier. If you don't make it within the alloted flight time, you won't be flying. They're strict about this.
