Anxiety and Stress can be Mental or Physical.

Some people are prone to the Mental Stress. Others because of their lifestyles can experience Physical stress.

I am now POST menopausal. Menopause if a huge stress factor on the whole body. Your body goes throught more than 10,000 changes during the 5-10 years than you are in this phase. Once it is done it seems your body and mind are totally different. This stress can cause real illness even in people who have never had illness.
Here are some of the effects of Menopausal Stress:
hair loss
weight gain
muscle loss/weakness
mood swings
dry skin
irritability
possible bone loss
lack of mental clarity
and much more

To combat most stress a person can use a Balanced Diet, exercise and herbs. This helps all types of stress. The body needs certain nutrients and without them it can get illness.

My mother has had an Anxiety disorder her whole life. Under stress she is at her worst. She suffers panic attacks and has weird feelings such as worries about others invading her space or snooping on her. It has really ruined her life. She stays home and never wants to leave her safe place. Once in awhile i can get her out but rarely. She feels safer in her home.
I believe some like her can have this disorder since birth, a malfunction of the brain. It can control all your thoughts and lifestyle. She is never far from Mental instability. She is now 86. Her life has been full of bad experiences. Those under this type of stress I believe bring negative energy to them. This negative energy controls their lives causing bad events.
These bad events then cause more stress. It is a vicious circle of despare. How do you break the cycle?
Maybe medication but with someone like her she does not believe in medication or doctors. It can be hopeless.

Good Luck

I can tell you the effect stress & anxiety has on family members. I had to learn the hard way.
My daughter, Julie , has been dealing with depression for years, and about 1 year ago she went to a traumatic experience and her whole body shook for a solid two hours. The doctors had no idea what it was. This happened several more times , and then they went into seizures.
She now has panic attack, anxiety, depression. She has been in the hospital twice so far within a year, and it it a terrible thing for everyone involved.
Julie has trouble being in crowds. She starts having heart palpitations, shaking, and has to leave whereever she is at. Medication has helped , but she still has problems almost every day, but we are all trying to cope with this .

I went through a period of stress back in 1997 - 1998. My daughter became engaged to her high school sweetheart. I never felt that he was ready to get married and I didn't really feel he was the right person to marry my daughter. He was always such a mama's boy and never really was the responsible guy that I thought my daughter deserved. He actually cheated on her during their engagement. When they became engaged, I tried to talk to my daughter that I felt he was not ready to be married, but she did not want to hear anything negative that I had to say about him. So, the wedding plans began, and after a while, I just accepted the fact that my daughter wanted to marry him. That is when my panic attacks started. I would wake up at night and my heart was beating so fast, I'd break out in a sweat, and I had a hard time getting my breath. These attacks got worse as the days/weeks went on. I had on average a panic attack 3 or 4 times a week. My doctor put me on medication (Topol). The medicine helped, but I still had the attacks about 2 times a week. My daughter did marry this jerk, it only lasted 10 months, but after the wedding, I stopped having the attacks and my doctor weened me off the medicine. I have not had a panic attack since. Just to let you know, my daughter remarried a wonderful guy and they now have a darling baby girl. Hope this helps your paper. Good luck.

I have always had high anxiety. I worry about everything too. Mine affected my wieght,my concentration, my blood pressure, my daily routines, and I got the shakes. I felt I couldn't handle anything. My General Practioner put me on Effexor XR and I can honestly say it helps. My blood pressure stays down without the pills and my outlook one day just changed. It really helped me
My advice for anxiety is to get help through a professional and a network of friends. medication helps many people. There are others on the market.

In January 2001, my grandmother had a stroke and in March of the same year, she died. Then September 11 happened and even though I did not know anyone even remotely involved, as an American it deeply saddened me. One month later I was fired from a job I really liked. In March 2002, my grandfather died. In May some old childhood memories came back to haunt me and in June I was diagnosed as being severely depressed. Not a fun 18 months!

Stress and anxiety can really mess with your mind and your body...I've had so much stress that it's caused panic attacks, irregular bleeding, fatigue, all kinds of things. Once you get over the stress, your body calms down so to speak. It can also cause nightmares (due to situations that aren't resolved or that you may not have control over) kind of thing as well.

well, since im in love & have been with my boyfriend for two years & i know he would be an amazing father i would keep the baby & move out even though i am only 18 & have my whole life ahead of me i could never get rid of the baby me and my boyfriend created together. Now if the situation was reversed & i was not in love & it was just with some guy then i think i would have to get rid of the baby... & move on with my life. *The morning after pill should not be banned because, not everyone uses protection & sometimes mistakes happen or accidents happen & its awesome that girls can fall back on that pill if they really need to! its not a form of abortion although some may say it is. it gets rid of the egg before it even turns into anything! & some girls cant talk to their parents about birth control so they do it with a condom & if the condom breaks they need the morning after pill to save the day :]

Hi I'm from Ohio. Stress on me is killer. I get migranes and gain weight. I'm always tired and aggravited. Being stressed out is stressing. Its the constant worries of either work, family, finicially, school, or other things.
To try to calm down I hang out with my family. We are always laughing and I forget about everything just for those moments. I watch what I eat and exercise.

I have had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and major depression for 14 years. Anxiety is so overwelming that I don't know the meaning of the word "happiness" anymore. If I did not have two absolutely loving children who need me, I would kill myself long ago.

Good luck.
