If that's really a miracle and it happens to a million people a day (ok maybe not a million) why worship god? Why not worship women since they are capable of this "miracle" over and over again?

As Bill Hicks said: "Childbirth is no more a miracle than eating a piece of food and a turd coming out your @$$.... Halleluja! Its a miracle here comes little mail man junior, pizza delivery jr...."

Because women don't know whether their delivery will be difficult or easy, short or long, or if their baby will live or die. Or if they will go full term. If they have so little knowledge, why in the world would I worship them? That's the misconception about miracles. People think they don't happen anymore. And they're happening every day. Just gotta look. You can't be much of a festivities minister. You don't sound like a fun person, not believing in miracles.

Birth does not qualify as a "miracle" as we define it.

mir·a·cle –noun 1. an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause

Birth is no miracle. Birth into a family that is financially responsible enough to care for the child throughout life--that is a miracle.

I've always wondered why, if birth is the miracle, why do Christians say life begins at conception?

My sister-in-law gave birth to my nephew and 'miracle' wasn't how she described it although the epidural did help apparently.

EDIT:

What about women who are sterile or post menopause?

I do find it amazing that in a short 9 month period you can go from one cell to billions of different types of cells forming many different functioning systems all working together to sustain life for a complete human.

All I can tell you is it was a miracle I didn't reach up and strangle my ex-husband when I had my second child.
