That's insanely shallow of you. You liked her enough to make her your girlfriend in the first place, was it just because of her body all along?? Girls do gain and lose weight, as do guys... would you like it if you gained a few pounds and a girl that you were dating left YOU? ... Next time, talk to her. Maybe she won't like to hear that you don't think she looks good in a bikini, but at least you two would be communicating and building a real relationship. Or even, if you don't want to be so bold, because some girls might react badly, go shopping WITH her! Show her what you'd like to see on her, what you think would look good (maybe a tankini?)... a subtle way to get her to cover up a bit. Don't just dump the poor girl.

it is said that you can not love a person for who they are, verses, what they look like. I'm glad your not married, because your children will suffer for this. Ive been married to my wife for 20yrs, and she is not the same weight now as she was then, but she is still so lovely to me. she has the biggest heart and loves people and me for who they are, even if she didnt know you, she would do anything for you, and. no matter what i have done, she loves me in spite of it. see, look for someone who will love you from their heart, and you wont go wrong. But before you do that work on yourself, so you first can love from your heart. in that way you wont hurt a nice lady, who deserves to be loved no matter what she looks like. So to answer your question, yes you are wrong, and it makes me sad that you have to ask the question. i love u my friend, that's why I'm taking my time to write this, and it has nothing to do with what you look like. take care and be well

Even though guys typically go for a girl intially because of her looks, its her personality and qualities that you should fall in love with, not her looks. Although if she was really overweight and was lazy that is one thing, but there are other ways to go about helping her. I agree with what the others said, "You obviously didn't love her for her!" You were a jerk, sorry!

Sounds like your relationship was about as deep as a kiddie pool. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was definitely not a matter of loving her. And if you argue and say you did love her before she got fat, you have alot to learn. For now, we'll just call you shallow hal.

No man, you are not wrong. Being fat when you are perfectly capable of not being fat (as she was when you met her) is no better than being a junkie. In fact, it's very similiar.

She lost respect for you. She did not take into account your feelings on being seen around with a "fat chick".

That said, your relationship couldn't have been that serious anyway.

Forget about it and go pull the tight little hardbody you deserve.

Well lets hope you never go bald!. Whats going to be a kicker is when she looses weight and she is HOT...she won't want you back. Instead of encouraging her you broke up with her...shame on you.

As long as you weren't rude or demeaning to her in any way, breaking up with her for her weight gain is fine. It's better that you broke it off rather than cheated on her. This way, you can be with someone you want to be with, and she can find someone who LOVES her curves.
