No, honey. Study the bible and be lead by the spirit. As a new Christian always remind yourself that God allows BALANCE. You should be holy but also exude the unique PERSONALITY He has given to you. That is an excellent way to meet a mate. What is off limits is compromising yourself. Be sure to still let the man pursue. HE who finds a wife... is the scripture. So be ready and be found. Peace girlie. I hope HE finds you soon!

I'm a Christian, and no it is not a sin. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using these things to get into dating again. BUT, I will say I find them to be incredibly stupid ideas. I've never used one and never intend too. I feel that most people who use them 1. get addicted to being online, on the service (such as myspace users) 2. Don't make enough time to actually go out into their area and find places to make friends and start relationships with. As a new Christian I feel this is even easier for you than most because you now have the ability to find a church and find people in the church to form relationships with (not just romantic ones, but sure those can come from them too).

While thats mostly just my opinion, and you have the right to do as you wish; the main question is still answered for you, it's not a sin to use them :-). Hope this helps.

No! It is not a sin....As long as you do it responsibly. There is no such thing as meeting the perfect man in the grocery store or church...Trust me, i know. And we all know how the bar scene can end up. At least on line you can be picky and selective when talking to people. You will also get to know the person on a more personal level instead of from just looks alone. The only time I think you could consider it a sin would to be if you took it to the cyber sex level. And it's clear your not looking for that....Give it a try...You'll love it! Good luck!

Of course there are the oddballs out there in the online dating world. But for the most part the online dating scene is just as scary as the regular dating world. Here are some key things to keep in mind when dating online:

how you portray yourself affects what will come of your online dating experience, so be yourself, be creative and make sure your online persona parallels your offline personality but be careful about setting up false expectations

Unleash your sexiest self online only if you can deliver offline; flirty messages whet a man's appetite for in-person contact. Before you hit send, ask yourself: "Is this something I'd say if we were in the same room?"

if you're worried a man you meet just wants you for sex, there are warning signs to watch out for, watch here to find out more:

and of course the answer to timeless question, no matter what medium you're using to date:

how can I tell if he's really into me?

I don't know what sin it would be? So no. What you do on the date might be a sin, The things you say might be sinfull but just being on the site probably is not (as long as you have all your clothes on)

There are several 'religious' dating sites that cater to people like you

I am a christian too and it's totally fine. I've never actually used them but I know there are singles sites out there specifically for Christians. You could definately look around for them!

Good grief! A 'sin'? Online dating? Do you remember seeing anything about online dating in the Bible? Does becoming a 'new christian' suddenly stop your brain from working too?

Cant think why it should be off limits ,you obviosly dont think using a computer is. Its what you do when you meet someone that might be sinful thats up to you.

i don't think it's a sin at all. you just have to really pay attention to what types of guys you date, pay close attention to what they list as their religion. if they only write christian-other and don't mention church attendance or anything else like that in their profile, most likely they are as worldly as the rest and aren't worth dating. good luck!

No, I don't think it's a sin. It's the same as meeting a guy in a park or a store, or wherever...
