Just out of curiosity, how tall are you? 156 may not be as horrible as you think. Also, at 13 your metabolism should be at it's best. I suggest before you try any type of diet (which I don't suggest) learn to love yourself as you are. Self improvement shouldn't be because you hate your body. I can promise you with absolute certainty that if you hate your body now, you will still hate it 44 pounds later. Lastly, if you truly need to lose weight, there is no quick solution to a long term problem. Talk to your doctor or a nutritionist and jointly develop a realistic plan with realistic goals. Good luck darling, although I'm sure that you are beautiful just the way you are.

STOP! You cannot possibly lose this amount of weight in such a short time without seriously damaging your health. Your bones and other bodily organs including your brain are still growing!
Get some advice on a healthy eating plan which includes all the nourishment that your body needs. Exercise more. Get out and about instead of watching the telly or using the computer. Aim to lose the weight slowly - because if you lose it quickly it will soon come back and more with it because your metabolic rate will slow down. I think maybe 2lbs a week would be realistic, but 1lb a week would be great too. In this way, you are changing your eating habits for life and you will never be fat again. Crash dieting NEVER works. Believe me, I've been there. I was fat when I was young, I dieted for ten years, and at the end I was still fat. I only lost weight when I stopped dieting, changed my attitudes towards food, stopped snacking between meals, ate when I was hungry and stopped eating when I felt full (most people think they need to eat everything on the plate).
Don't look at these stupid magazines which display models who are stick-thin, some of these girls die of malnutrition. Ask any guy what type of girl he really prefers and he'll tell you that curvy girls are way more attractive.
Make the most of what you've got, focus in on your good points - nice eyes? clever brain? kindness?
Look after your skin, your hair and your nails, all of these things will add to your self-esteem.
Please look after yourself, I'm a nurse and I've seen girls die of anorexia nervosa, it's tragic and heart-breaking.
Love, Irene

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Take it from me - I am diet expert of the century >grin<, The best and most effective way to lose weight is gradually! The quicker you lose it - the quicker it piles back on if you have a slip in yur eating regime!

Another sure way of losing weight and keeping it off is to exercise - take it from me this works! In 2005 I lost over 14lbs and kept it off because I did aerobics everyday and went swimming once a week etc BUT then over Christmas (2005) I stopped exercising and like a nut I ate a lot and put weight on. I then injured my ankle and haven't got back into exercising and guess what? I've put on nearly 28lb!! So exercise and eating less (probably about 1,300 - 1,400 calores a day) will help you - but remember it didn't go on overnight and the weight isn't going to come off overnight!

All the best and you WILL succeed if you are determined enough to do it! Take a look at the link below - they are people who have lost weight following a diet!

you are young so please don't do anything stupid now as you will still grow up and your body will change. In your situation, the only thing you can do is eat healthy food in normal quantity (do not starve yourself, forget the crisps and fries - choose Evian instead of Coke and pick an apple instead of chocolate bar) and a bit of sports (whatever you like and will enjoy, it doesn't have to be a burden otherwise you will not do it). If you do this, you'll have a great body... You're thirtheen and have time, two months is a really bad idea to stick with even if holidays are coming. Do it safely and target winter holidays to look slimmer if you really want to. The result will also last longer...

Not sure if it's possible to lose that much that quick. You could lose a lot though by stopping any unhealthy foods,( bad fats, carbs, sugar), exercising every morning, walking at least 45 min each day, and drinking lots of water. Cook with small amounts of olive or conola oil. Watch for added calories in beverages also. Drink mostly water. Hope this helps.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself with a little snack once in a while:)

I think you should talk to your parents about seeing a nutritionist and maybe a counselor too. You cannot lose that much weight in that little time and be healthy. Trying to do that could set you up for a lifetime of eating disorders and weight cycling. Please don't even try. Eat less and move more and don't lose more than 2 lbs a week. You didn't put weight on overnight, you can't lose it overnight either. As much as you want to lose it fast, you can't. Try to be patient.

if you are really serious about it and want to make a life change , look up Food Addicts Anonymous... but since you are only 13 it may be very strict.... try exercising more and eating a healthy breakfast is a must....have you tried weight watchers?... please do not feel that you hate your body ... as i lived through that all my life...and it is so unproductive...make small life changes that you can stick with... nothing dramatic like i will skip lunch... rather try i writing out the amount of food you will eat the next day and then stick to it...that is an excellent helper... local hospitals have nutrition programs which cost little...best of luck...
