You should see a doctor. Depression can be treated.
Most of all, you should remember that there are many people who will value you through life. If you are in high school, just remember that life completely changes when you are done.
I used to think school was the worst. I hated most of the people at my school for being rich, clicky, popular, etc. But once I went to college and got a job, I quickly realized how trivial high school was. The people that I didn't like should not have bothered me so much. I now have friends that I've made in the last few years that truly enjoy my friendship and value my opinion. Just hang on - it will get better!
One tip: find something that you are interested in (cooking, golf, art, movies, whatever!), and find out how you can be more involved. For example, if you like bicycling, find some area groups that go biking on the weekends and join them. If you like painting, find an art class or group where you live and participate with them.
You will soon find that there are many people who will value having you around - you just have to immerse yourself in the right things and surround yourself with people who share your interests. You will be ok!

Ashley, I know how you feel I have depression and have had it for 8 years now. I know it is hard to believe right now the your feeling but people do care and they love you. About your friends if they can't see something is is wrong then your not being honest with them by putting on a front at school. But I also understand doing that too. I put on the biggest front in front of my family and some of my friends because they don't understand depression or except it. It wears you out mentally and physically that it is the reason your laying around. Depression and pretending nothing is wrong wears you down.
I see a therapist who tells me laying in bed for days and cutting myself off from the world which I do is the worst thing you could do. Force your self up out bed open the blinds in your room take a shower and make your self go outside to some sun. It is a proven fact that sun help depression.
Ashley if your depression cont. or get worst please tell some one. There is medicine out there that will help it has me alot. I'm able to go college now and work where before I couldn't even function, so there is hope. Good luck. I'll be praying this depression doesn't last long for you and you'll get the help you need. I hope I helped you in some way.

I think you may be experiencing some of the symptoms of depression, it's a good idea to talk to your doctor about it.
Your primary care provider is a good place to start. He or she can evaluate your symptoms and determine whether depression is the underlying cause. Your doctor may suggest a course of treatment, or may refer you to a specialist, such as a psychiatrist. If you don't already have a primary care provider, see if your friends, family members, or health insurance company can recommend someone.
It's a good idea to prepare yourself for the visit. First, create a list of questions you want to ask, some notes about your symptoms and your medical history. The more detail you can provide, the easier it is for your doctor to make an accurate diagnosis. You may also want to ask a trusted friend or relative to come with you. He or she can take notes during the visit and provide support afterward.
Good Luck

I've been there before and it's an awful feeling. Try some sort of physical activity such as walking, running up steps, yoga ...
this really helps balance the chemicals that cause depression. I don't know how old you are, but tell someone that can take you to a doctor. Depression is very common and very treatable.

Friends: get some new friends. no one deserves this sort of treatment, however, it seems that you're allowing it. stop allowing it and surround yourself with people who don't use you.
Depression: that certainly sounds like depression. if you don't want to talk to your doctor, there are other options you can try first:
exercise - go for walks/jogs/head to the gym.
spoil yourself - do something nice just for yourself.
diet - change the way you eat, increase the fresh foods, limit prepackaged/frozen etc foods.
hope this helps!

Call 1-800-273-TALK / 1-800-273-8255
Call and talk to someone. The above numbers are just a talk line.
They can help you decide on the best course for you to take regarding your mental health. There are counselors and therapists that you can go to.

Keep talking or writing. Write in a journal and talk to anyone who will listen. And go to the Dr. maybe meds will help you. If you are a minor you will need to talk to your parents. Don't let this rule your life. depression can swallow you up, quickly.
Good luck.
