Moslems proclaim when a person carries out a heroic act of 'estishad', he is welcomed by God, according to religious law , "One who blows himself up among enemies, in order to defend his land, is considered a martyr." Christianity (Catholics, Methodists, Lutherans, etc.) tell us to kill people for working on the wrong day (Exodus 31:15), or saying the wrong words (Leviticus 24:17) or because they are homosexual (Leviticus 20:13), Hindu's, Gandhiji, the greatest apostle of Ahimsa in the modern days, advised the fleeing Malabar Hindus before the rioting Moplas in 1923 to cultivate the art of killing and being killed. He averred that it did not constitute violence. Even the Upanishads declare that there is no salvation for the weak!

I understand the whole philosophy behind the New Testament, however, God is not suppose to be fallible, he did not make a mistake, so if this was His Words, then my thoughts are the same, He promotes killing (according to Christianity).

I am not knocking religion, I am truly searching. I have sought for many years, I just cannot connect the dots. I have seen more hate and anger come from the religious people than anyone else. Jesus preaches love and respect, but is he God? Why do you impune someone seeking answers?

Religions focus on morals and behaviors... good vs. evil.
It is also played out in courtrooms and with governments the world over. All involve judgment and justice. If the good do nothing against evil it will flourish. The real issue is one of perspectives.

What's wrong with the world, mama
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all
People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practice what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love
The love, the love

Not trying to be disrespectful here but I don't know where everyone is getting that God said to kill people that don't believe in Him. God is love and compassion. One of the 10 commandments is do not kill. How are we supposed to witness to people if we judge them and try to kill them. I don't understand why people think killing is the answer. God is compassionate and loving and mercy He is not hate, and murder and disrespect. I'm so sorry you have gotten that impression becuase it certainly isn't right. I pray for those that would put this kind of garbage out becuase that is exactly what it is...garbage!! Jesus loves everyone and wants everyone to be saved and live forever in Heaven with Him. Please don't believe that is the way things are supposed to be becuase I assure you it's not.

When did Jesus (the model for Christians) ever preach killing people? Just because some Christians do that, doesn't make the entire religion (followers of Jesus) like that.

The GOD Morality capture 22 subject makes no experience. First: God is God, you belong to Him. He receives to judge you not Viceversa. 2d: your Romans a million:24-32 reference is ridiculous. It merely says that human beings that were being evil comprehend that God's righteous decree states that those who do such evil deserve lack of existence. 0.33: Why did you not element out that Christ has paid for the sins of the international, so as that no man or woman can say that they kill yet another because of their sins. Or the very shown reality that Jesus suggested to even love your enemies and to do solid to human beings that do evil to you? did you comprehend something about Christianity? The crusades were performed through Catholics. Any Christian who claims to kill for God is a liar. So the following is a extra precise attempt: a million. Is your God the author and proprietor of each little thing and everyone? sure 2. Is your God keen to struggle through on your sake? sure 3. Does your God call for that you adore everyone and damage no man or woman? sure

But, isn't it interesting that in Judaism, the only people God commanded to be executed for violation of the law, were Jews themselves, not people who didn't believe as they did. God had a close relationship with His people, and it was high treason to commit sin in His presence like that. Also, you stated your question in the present tense. In the case of the God of Abraham, that was in the past.

Your bible quotes are from the old testament - Christianity is following Christ - the new testament... In the new testament Jesus said: A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35

First off the Catholics are not Christian. Second you must take the whole council of God. This means that you cannot cherry pick individual verses that fit your needs and say that is the Bible's (read God's) position on a topic.
If you follow the entire teaching of God you will see truth. Jesus summed up the law (which is what you quoted from) in two simply statements
1. Love the Lord your God with all heart.....
2. and your neighbour's as yourself
Luke 10:27
Leviticus 19:18, Deuteronomy 6:5
Further more offenders were to be killed by stoning. What happened when Jesus encounter a women that was to be stoned for adultery.
John 8:2-12
2 Now early[a] in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.
3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught[b] in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded[c] us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”
6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.[f]
7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemnned you?”
11 She said, “No one, Lord.”
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Here you can see that Jesus teaches that only one with out sin (Jesus himself) may take a life in judgement of sin and Jesus did not come to condem us but to set us free. Not set us free to sin but free from sin.

Produce a Gospel passage - IN CONTEXT (not a snippet of a parable) - where Jesus commands anyone to kill and you can go on criticizing Christianity. Otherwise, retract.

I have always wondered the same thing. Its sickens me, frightens me and makes me enternally sad over things people HAVE done, do and will do in the name of God. I can't believe any god worth believing in would preach some things so cruel.
