I've searched AR 670-1 from cover to cover and can't find anything that pertains to the mechanics coveralls. This uniform has weird pockets in front and on the sleeves and I'm not too sure where the nametapes and badges go. I'm not new to the Army but I'm new to this kind of uniform. Thanks. Airborne!

Mechanics Coveralls are actully called "Combat Vehicle Crewman Uniform" Chapter 13 of the AR 670-1. The combat vehicle crewman (CVC) uniform is authorized for year-round wear by combat vehicle crewmen, when
issued in accordance with CTA 50–900 and prescribed by the commander.

My guess is that this is not an actual uniform. I also looked in AR 670-1, and its just not there. Is this an OCIE item that you are issued either from your unit or from CIF? I would think that if it is an organizational item that your unit wears in its duties, your unit SOP might have some guidance. If it's not in 670-1, it more than likely is not anywhere else, which is why I think that it does not really qualify as a uniform, thus badges and such probably should not be worn on it.

This is just pure conjecture on my part, though.
