Sure, but the incidence is low. Police by and large are just doing the tough job they are assigned. Any time you put a group of people in positions of authority, a small number will take advantage of it. That's just human nature, unfortunately.

Of course it is! It's sad when it happens too! But don't just go by these blurbs that you see on TV which usually show one side suchas in the case of Rodney King when he was beaten. No one will tell you that the other occupant who was not high on PCP or combative complied with the police and was not so much as verbally abused. We also don't know if the reporter in LA and her camera crew covering the march did anything to provoke the response from the police. I mean the only group more corrupt than the police and politicians is the media. Look at all the coverage this unknown reporter has now and the sympathy she gets. I'm sure she'll do the late night TV circuit and end up on Larry King.
Having said that, I have witnessed both sides of it while never been accused of it myself. I have seen guy's get their asses kicked while in handcuffs, houses torn apart by guy's on search warrants who thought it was funny to destroy things. One guy even broke his hand on another guy's face and reported that the injury occurred while handcuffing the guy. I have stood up against these guy's and somehow I become the bad guy. But trust me! I do my job for you- not the ******* I work for.
I have had many fights and chases and have never took an extra shot on someone cause I was pissed.
But I have witnessed the other side too when knuckle heads get arrested and claim brutality when it never happened. Unfortunately they usually use race as the reason. It suck's to because if you are a minority and something really does happen to you in terms of brutality these guy's who cry wolf have hurt your case.
Hope it helps

Sure it's real. Cops are like every other occupation. Most are good but some are rotten eggs. I don't believe it's rampid but sometimes appears that way because when it happens the media blow it out of proportion. I also feel that some minorities like claim brutality to try and weasle out of a criminal conviction.

the suited performing authority makes helpful there are exams and balances. there's a reason for inner affairs. maximum police brutality claims are fluff. The youtube movies and information photos you notice are merely a pick few incidents. i've got in no way in actual existence seen police brutality, merely like i've got in no way seen a shark attack in individual. Now that i think of of it, it relatively is a stable analogy. by fact I see on television quite a few shark assaults on swimmers. by skill of your reasoning meaning it relatively is a 50/50 probability i'm going to be attacked by skill of a shark when I swim in the sea.

Are there "bad apples" in the ranks, as in any other job? Yes.
Is there an organized, concerted program to brutalize suspects? No.
Being a cop seems like an incredibly difficult, dangerous and stressful job. Thank God there are men and women who are capable and willing who do it.

No I don't. People "fall" down stairs often. I've even had someone "trip" over my foot with their face.
