What is "love" to you ?

Some people get things twisted. Oh ya
know, like sex is love. And if you
buy this for me, then that is love. Or if
you, well you get the picture. Some out
there like to hurt others, cause it makes
them feel good. Kinda like a sadistic,
state of mind. Pretending to love somebody
only cause you want to be loved. If you
don't feel that way about yourself, then is
it really possible to love someone else ?

it a feeling, but it becomes you.

Love is a four letter word but with so much meaning...Respect, patience, trust, friendship, protection...
all these words are emotions and not physical things so it all starts in your heart and mind...

To me love is an emotion that is very hard to control - you would do anything for some one you love. I reckon its also very difficult to tell how much you love some one until its tested.

Love is to care for someone unconditionally. Love is to trust , it is to always have that person in mind at all times. It is love if you can put that persons happiness first. It also means to be patient , to not be ashamed of , and to love without any intention of getting something back.It should be a two way street. Thfe only true way of loving someone is to first love yourself,because if you cannot love yourself how can you love someone else?

Even if you weren't together you know that you would still care about them, you respect them, and you can see yourself with them forever. As your friend, your sexual partner, the person you can share your intimate feelings with, and the one who understands you (or atleast trys to) when noone else would. The person who you can trust with your deeper thoughts and the one you know that would never use those things against you, or to try to hurt you to make themselves feel better, because they are already whole.
When someone makes you feel happier and when you want to make that person happy just because, that's love. You know because it's not 'a means to an end', its an 'end to a means'. Like you don't want anything from them, you don't feel you have to impress them or go out of your way for them. You don't do nice things for them to make them like you, you do nice things for them because you like them. And life's not a competition between you, it's teamwork. You feel like you can take on anything together, and they compliment you (not complete you) perfectly.
It's important that you CAN be happy on your own, just that that person makes your day brighter. You should never rely completely on one person for your happiness, but you know just having them around lights up your life in a special way no one else can. It's like friendship, but much deeper. Just touches you on a level you've never felt before, almost spiritual.
