I don't know whether you heard, but there will be a debate on ABC Saturday night between an atheist and a Christian, who states he will prove the existance of God without using the Bible or mentioning faith:

I thought it might prompt some interesting discussion on Monday. What do you folks think?

JP, I don't anticipate he'll use the bananna tactic, since that relies on God. I tend to roll my eyes when he raises that argument, and I'm a believer!

"Happy," hopefully you'll watch, anyway.

p.s. -- pls check your gun at the door, first!

"Skalite5," it will be nationally broadcast. Originally, the network was only going to broadcast it on its web site, but by popular demand it'll be on tv.

"Esther," the Christian debater is a Messianic Jew named Ray Comfort of Living Waters Ministries. I've seen him debate numerous times and have NEVER seen him disrespect anyone else. So I don't anticipate it'll be unpleasant to watch. I hope you reconsider, it should be interesting.

"Jannah," it is in America. But if you go to the network's web site, they may decide to broadcast it simultaneously.

I might end my boycott of TV to watch but honestly I have never understood the need of anyone to "prove" G-d. I am a firm believer in G-d. I have no doubts of his existence or his love. But G-d is something you just know and accept. If you are not open to accepting you never will. So displays like this are pointless. Many believers will shake their heads that the atheists do not see the proof and many atheists will laugh at the theists and make fun of their proof.

Dear Suzanne,

No, I didn't know it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I had trouble with the link but I'll plan to watch.

If it is anything like the debate I watched about 5 years ago between Cliffe Knechtle (sp?), a Christian and Dr. Michael Newdow (sp?), an athiest, I have a feeling it will be rather one-sided.

Cliffe goes around to college campuses and answers questions in open air settings. My local station carries his program on Sunday mornings at 10 am. It is called Give Me An Answer.

I don't think it's on TV. According to ABC, it never was on TV, but streaming live online. It is being held in NYC on May 5th, but not broadcast live.

They now say it will be broadcast online at abc.com on May 9th at 1:00 PM, with a Nightline piece about it at 11:30 PM.

Why so much importance to an ignorant Atheist. He is not the first person of this Planet. So many before him challenged and perished. Better put a debate among Muslims / Jews / Christians in peaceful manner

Suzanne,
Thank you for posting this. I hope that it will be worth watching. I believe that everyone should be interested. The religious folks to see that this person is correct and the Non-religious folks to see that he/she is not. Have a wonderful weekend and a great LORD's DAY! It is good to see you posting questions on here. Keep the faith.
Thanks,
Eds

It should be interesting. Those who deem it a waste of time are the ones to lazy to even form their own opinions and rely on Atheist web pages for their opinion.

Forget the Monday morning discussion........
All you need to do is be abreast of modern physics.....which has found Consciousness energy in all matter and all space between all matter, even that which we can not see. This consciousness react and acts toward other consciousness....
since the bible said we were made in his likeness and all is
part of and has God within it......this Consciousness that is found in all things must be God.....a rose by anyother name is still a rose..!

I don't think people will even wait until Monday, Suzanne! That is too hot a topic to sit for a whole day. I look forward to joining in. It should be pretty interesting.

He plans on using scripture to prove God so it will only prove that he is a smart man for conning ABC into giving him 13 mins of airtime.
