What standard is used to determine right and wrong.

If it is always wrong to tell someone else they are in religious error and you hear someone that tells others they are wrong, is it also wrong for you to tell him he is wrong in doing this?

If a person is convinced of a religious truth, then what else can they do but share that truth and try to prove others wrong? Our eternities are all at stake so what kind of person, if they think they have a word from God, would keep their mouth shut?

Id rather be accused of speaking the truth about Jesus Christ TOO boldly rather than keeping it to myself.

I don't think it is ever right to tell someone else that their religion is "wrong" - rather perhaps to ask them to explain their reasoning on certain issues.
If you have a different point of view ask them if they would like to engage in a serious debate about "religion" in general and explore the subject together.

Before you come to any decisions- I suggest you educate yourself about ALL religions as objectively as possible.
Look into the historic reasons such religions came about and study the individual cultures surrounding them.

I think we all are in this together and need to have many view points to have a truly "real" discussion about religion.

While religious "zealots" are a bit annoying - have compassion for the fact that they are perhaps uneducated about the alternatives and really are just sheep who are scared to accept or even look at there belief system objectively

Human nature being what it is, it's usually not very productive to tell someone they're wrong, even if you're certain. I think it's sometimes more effective to teach truth in such a way that it builds on the correct understanding the person already has.

Each of us has come to understand truth to one extent or another. By sharing we can help each other grow.

I don't think you can realy tell anyone what they believe in is wrong. Cristians believe everything in the bible, and the verses can be interpreted many different ways, depending on who is doing the reading. I see no proof that the bible is not a work of fiction, put together by the government. We should not judge others and tell them they are wrong just because we don't believe the same things they do. There are many different religions, and who know which religion, if any is the right one. I think we should just keep on believing in what we do, and not tell others who don't agree they are wrong. I also believe that cristians should not try to force their religion on others, I don't know about you but I get tired of someone knocking on my door every weekend to tell me If I don't believe the same thing as them I am going to hell.

Blessed Be!

It's never right. Everyone is entitiled to their own unique spiritual path and no one can rightfully tell them otherwise!!!

My dad is right. No one denomination or organized religion is completely right. If it were, then why would there be so many different religions throughout the world?

He's right. I think all religions have some truth and goodness to them, but they all have something bad too. You be the decider. Besides how many wars has organized religion caused? And would any loving God want people dying in his or her name??? You be the judge.

When they are harming themselves or others. And not in a "if you don't believe like I do your soul is damned for eternity" way. Being threatened with someone else's hell, to me, is not harmful, because it's just words. ("No, He's YOUR God, they're YOUR rules - YOU burn in hell" sort of thing)

If they're trying to force others to live by their rules (i.e. through legislation or intimidation), or if they are denying others from doing or having things that they want because "MY religion says it's wrong so YOU can't do it", then that's another story.

But as long as they're not hurting themselves or hurting others, does it really matter what they believe? If it gives them comfort and solace, why is it anyone else's business?

When dogmas and rituals are planned to exploit the innocent. When there is too much of narrow-minded fundamentalism. When religion is used as a political tool.
When religious rites are designed to exploit weak sections.
When rites and dogmas divorce you from "spirituality."

Someone can not be religiously wrong if that is their personal interpretation of the religion / religious text that they follow. What is wrong, is telling someone else that they are wrong because they have a different interpretation or viewpoint.

It is never acceptable to tell someone that they are religiously wrong. It is not our to judge others beliefs only to accept that they have them.
