I am trying to get doctors attention to show them software that would help them run their practice. We have tried trade shows, limited magazine advertisement and mailings. Anyone have suggestions for ways to reach them and be sure our message is heard?

Feed them!

I used to organize continuing education luncheons and they were well attended. Good food and a quiet place to sit for an hour is all you need.

Find a nice place that has enough room for 6 to 10 docs at a time. Have lunches brought in or find a restaurant that is (1) close to the hospital/their offices (2) invite the doc & the office manager and tell them "FREE lunch" (3) make sure you have enough laptops to go around or use a good presentation software (4) be sure they have time to eat AND hear you (5) have information for them to take with them.

Once the luncheon is over, give it a week then go to each office and see the office manager. Just pop in on some Tueday afternoon. The office manager is your way in. And take snack when you go; everything from Starbucks cookies to Jamba Juice is appreciated by people that are stuck in the office all day.

The doctor isn't admitting patients, scheduling appointments, or accepting co-pays - the support staff is! You have to start there.

Now go get 'em!

The best way should be hiring a specialized publicist, and also getting in touch with the editor of any medical magazine with a decent circulation ....
Although I gather that printed publicity is somehow costly...good luck

you need to find their office managers, not the doctors themselves. the doctors usually have no clue about how their businesses are managed. don't address your mailings to the doctors themselves. address it to their office managers.

Take them out to dinner if it's allowed.
