Frontline or Advatage for felines.
Capstar (a pill that kills every flea on them within 24 hours) - available from vets, as is the frontline.
Most of the stuff in the pet store or pet dept really doesn't work as well.
Take her to a professional groomer for a flea dip/bath.
Wash all her bedding and dry it in the dryer - heat kills eggs.
Fleabomb the house (take the cushions out of the sofa and your cat out of the house while this is being done)
Vacuum vacuum vacuum. Spritz some adam's mist or put bits of cut-up flea collar in the vacuum bag to kill fleas & eggs you vacuum up.
Fleabomb again 2-3 weeks later to get any eggs that hatch.
Or were you trying to get FREE of cats? Or flee FROM cats?

Poor thing- I've had to deal with that!

The most expeditious way I've found is to have a vet or groomer dip them, then put Front Line or a similar flea-repelling product on them. And meanwhile, treat the home and the kitty's bedding for fleas. Wash the bedding in hot water if you can. If not, sprinkle it (and the rest of the house!) with borax, let it sit about 20 minutes, then vacuum it up. And keep vacuuming every day for at least 2 weeks: That will get any newly-hatched fleas and flea eggs.

Good luck!

Forget about over the counter flea remedies or flea collars, they just don't work. The best way to keep your pet (dog or cat) free of fleas is to use Frontline once a month. You can buy it at your vet or a little cheaper from 1-800 pet meds on your computer.

Purchase Frontline or Advantage from the pet store and use it religiously every single month. It's the only thing that works reliably all the time. Powders, flea collars and baths are less expensive but don't work very long and are more toxic.

They sell many over-the-counter solutions. Powders, sprays, etc. I use Advantage personally because it also acts as a skin conditioner for my cat with flea allergy dermatitis. Front Line will actually stop mosquitoes as well.

The real question is when they start falling off the cat, then what do you do with them?
