what should i mix vodka with?

dose the shot of lime, mixing lime to vodka, or any other citrus juice decrease the effect of liquor?

No citrus doesn't decrease the effect of the liquor but more importantly it enhances the flavor. Choose something you like to enhance the experience of drinking the vodka. Like maybe a Bloody Mary or just crack open a Red Bull and pour on the vodka..cheers mate!

Vodka is originally is drunk straight and in big quantities, chased by good food (since it opens up your stomach). Mixing vodka came about recently as a way of " accesible consumption" in the bars and parties and is a Western idea. That said, i think vodka is very good with orange or cranbery juice, or chased by them. I think any citrus goes very well with vodka, since it has a toning effect on the gas that starts coming up after a shot as well as gives it a great tropical flavor!

No. Mixing other things with alcohol does not decrease the effects of the alcohol. As for vodka mixers, I suggest orange juice or 7 Up.

Vodka is best alone. Russians will tell you that the more you drink Vodka alone (room temp, no ice, a small glass, larger than a shot, but not as big as a Low Ball) the more you can taste the subtle differences in the creation.
