That's just the "Christian" universe. If anything doesn't fit in with their narrow POV, it must be the work of Satan to deceive the wicked. It's singularly amusing to read their explanations for such phenomena as dinosaur fossils or vestigial organs. The problem is that these people begin with a set of assumptions, viz. their particular cult's interpretation of "Scripture," and then try to make all the data jibe with it. And then they criticize science for adjusting its theories in response to new information!
Even supposing you condescend to play their game and quote scripture back at them for the sake of argument, you're inevitably "taking it out of context," etc. (The "correct" context being, as always, the particular interpretation sponsored by their own cult.) They'll even try the tack of quoting in "rebuttal" the scriptural text that contradicts the one you just quoted - which, of course, merely demonstrates that the Bible is self-contradictory - and they'll finish by repeating the story of the Temptation on the Mount in illustration of the fact that even the Devil can quote Scripture (you are the devil, of course).

Well, generally speaking, yes. It comes from the bible itself and goes back to Genesis where it says that man shall have dominion over the earth. One look at the effects of a hurricane, tornado, flood, tsunami, earthquake, et al will tell you that we are far from the dominant. Fast forward to the new testament where they interpret the scriptures to say that only christians will go to "heaven", and they get the superiority complex that just because they've said the "sinner's prayer", they have a free ride and where it says "be in the world not of the world" they interpret that to mean that they are not responsible for the destruction of the planet and yep.. I'd say that's a really inflated sense of entitlement.

The majority always has an inflated sense of entitlement. Their views are the status quo, and they are quite used to that. Anything that challenges the status quo makes the majority very uneasy. They will even call it "bad" just because it isn't what they believe. It's just that they aren't used to being challenged or having someone else's ideas on top.
Sybil has a good point. What are people supposed to think when they are raised in a culture where EVERYONE gets a trophy?

I have been on this site for over a year now and, with all due respect, I think it's an extreme generalization to say that EVERYTIME someone disagree with them.....
That is no more true than when a christian accuses ALL atheists of being rude and insulting.
Neither is true. There are those on the christian side who do as you say, but not all of them. There are those on the atheism side who bash all christians. For them, the term anti-christian does fit. Not for all.

No, They are simply unenlightened. We do our best with the life that has been given us. That is all we can do. If we feel led by God to save your souls, who are you to complain? If we turn a person away from salvation, we will answer for their souls on judgment day. When we stand before Him He will ask why we did not try a little harder, so that this soul could be here with us. I will not face that judgment, so I choose rather to face it on Earth by people who don't believe.

If they do, it would be because they need an inflated sense of entitlement in order to feel good about themselves.

Please do not let people who call themselves Christians, inhibit your relationship with God.
I in fact do agree with you,
We as Christians (me included) recognize we are fallen people, no better than anyone else, we just realize we have made so many misteaks that we cant do life without God, thats the only difference, God sees us all the same, and longs for us to come before him in honesty, he knows us inside out anyway.
Please forgive us, and seek to know what God is like by looking into what Jesus said and did.

Do Atheist have an inflated sense of entitlement?
Because evertime someone disagrees with them, they either call them "Fundie" , "closed minded", "judgmental", or just plain refer to them as the source of all the conflict in America today.
You see.... that question goes both ways.

Everyone in America has an inflated sense of entitlement. This is probably global but I live in the US, that is what I know best.
