That's an irrational fear. We are all born, and we will all die. You just have to live everyday and accept the mistakes, learn from the snafus and treasure the good times. That's what life is all about.

I don't know if I am an exception or not but as someone who has been in some potentially lethal situations in my life I have never feared death. I have always and still do fear pain (more a fear of injury rather than death). I remember fearing that I would not be around to provide for my family things like that.
But now that my family is grown and don't depend on me so much, I no longer have that fear. I am far more afraid of being seriously injured, such as paralyzed or otherwise unable to truly live as I wish or suffering from some kind of Alzheimer's or dementia in my old age. Death seem far preferable than that.
To answer you directly, I was always pretty active (skydiving and the like) but what limited me was fear of life altering injury not death.

If by "good active life" you refer to the purely self-indulgent modes of pleasure which has become the "god" of this day and age, then by all means YES!!! Sort of..
The fear of death does not stop me from that life, it is my hope of death, or the after death hope that I hold dear to my heart that stops me from those indulgences.
I do enjoy an active life full of healthy activies. I have hobbies, community service activities, leisure time, good friends, and a healthy marital life.

It has been my experience that death can occur at any given time.
Driving to roller skating, going to work, riding an ATV, going to school.
If the fear of death was that bad, none of us would leave our homes and all of our homes would be on one floor for fear of falling down the steps.
Everyone has different phobias, some people have extreme fear of dying. They put their lives on hold.
I don't think people without this phobia live their lives any differently.

No the fear of pursuing your goals because of your delusions and neuroses stop you living a full and rewarding life. Life scares most people more than death but they aren't always conscious of the fact. Those with insight know it's the truth.

No, because death for a Christian is a promotion into the presence of God where there is fullness of joy and at whose right hand are pleasures forever more.
Psalms 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. 10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. 11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. 23 I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.
