No, I won't be joining in. I don't pray.
But why do you need a special day to pray?
Added: No, I don't think the government has any place "sanctioning prayer". So, I won't be taking them up on that offer which violates the separation of church and state.

Probably not, I already pray for our country and others things, I do not need a specific time to pray. Heavenly Father just wants us to pray and have a relationship with him not pray on a special day or time.

I don't think the Nat'l Day of Prayer is honoring to God.
As created by the Congress, the intention of the National Day of Prayer was always that it would be a day when members of all faiths could "pray together in their own way."
That means Buddhists and Muslims and Hindus and pagans are all out there praying to false gods. How is this pleasing to the Almighty??

I will try to remember to pause for a few minutes of prayer, not just for our nation, but for All of Creation...everyone deserves blessing, not just people in the U.S.A.
Why do we "need" a certain time of prayer? It's not that it's "necessary" to do it this way, but knowing that others are pausing and going into "spiritual mode" at the same time as you (give or take time zone differences) offers a sense of Unity of Human Consciousness, which is critical to enhancing our Spiritual Evolution. You could also use this time to increase your awareness that others besides yourself DO think about the Spiritual Nature of Life, and how even though rhetoric and specifics between religions obviously differ, the majority of us do acknowledge the existence of Something Beyond Ourselves...that is something that all of us Believers have in common.
Why is it "insulting" to "God" (whatever you call that Supreme Entity/Force/Source) to have Muslims, Christians, Jews, and Buddhists, etc. all turning their attention to "Him" at one time? Surely you realize that ALL religions who profess belief in One 'Supreme' _____ are all really recognizing the same Entity. Call that God, Yahweh, Jehovah, Allah...all of those terms acknowledge the same Entity (there may be other 'names', too; I'm not fully knowledgable of all religions).
Also, just to attempt to clarify, just b/c there is only One Source does not mean that this Entity is "singular" in nature, like a single-celled organism. I think it is highly possible that this Source is "multi-cellular", or multi-faceted; such that it is certainly easy to imagine many components making up this One God. Those components just might include: that Source Itself, a "Son" component, a "Holy Spirit" component...and, yes, even WE could all be in effect "cells" making up this One God...and so could the animals, the plants, the stars, the elements, and every aspect of Creation could be little "pieces of God"...it IS possible; perhaps not certain, but POSSIBLE...
Just as an example, I think Jesus even said (according to the Bible) that "I am the vine, you are the branches" (which indicates we are all part of one "plant"), and he also spoke of being "in the Father, and the Father is in me"..."whoever has seen me has seen the Father"..."you are all members of my body"...etc... this to me does indicate, possibly, that every one of us IS truly a "part of God"...
This is why I posed a question yesterday about whether or not people who don't believe in any form of god feel a sense of Unity; it is this type of Unity which I was speaking of.
Just something to think about :)
Peace.

no because I don't need the government to say that today is prayer day. I wouldn't pray just because they made it prayer day. I may send a prayer to Spirit tomorrow but I will not do so today.

If I believed in God I'd pray that America received a just punishment for what it's done in Iraq. I'd pray for innocent Iraqis that live with the the daily threat of violent death before I ever prayed for the evil country that caused the carnage in the first place.
