Medicated Blistex in the squeezy tube- not the one in the little tub or the one that looks like chapstick. It heals all things "lip".

I've had a lot of luck with Burt's Bees products, both their lip balms and their Res-Q Ointment. I use the lip balm on a daily basis, and this past winter when I did end up having a crack develop, I used the Res-Q morning and night and it was completely healed within two days. The Res-Q works great on other bumps and bruises as well, especially sunburns!
Good luck!

You need to keep your lips really moisturised, sounds like they're getting far too dry.
Drink plenty of water and get some Vaseline or some other sort of lip balm. Sounds girly I know but it works!

You need to keep your lips rehydrated at the faintest sensation of cracking apply Aquaesous creame sold at supa saver for £ 1.50.this should be on going as the split will never heal if you allow it to become dry .

Carmex really works to heal cracked lips. It has petroleum jelly (vaseline) in it, which some other answers also mention. You can find it in drug stores/pharmacies where they have other lip balm products.

at night, before you sleep, put a thick layer of vaseline over your lips and cover with a small piece of clear wrap or, if you don't turn in your sleep at all, a small warm towel. you can also do it whenever you're free and lying down, it helps to moisturise your lips.

You should keep your lips moist - but not by licking them - rather by a medicated chapstick or lip balm.
