Hi all!!
This question is for Christians:
In the gospels, it says that Jesus' resurrection meant that we too could have eternal life and that it 'opened the gates of heaven' you get the picture??
1. so is it trying to say that the only way to heaven is to follow Jesus?
2. so what happened to all the good people that lived before Jesus?? i believe that all who truly loved God and did His will went to heaven.
what do you think??
3. also, how about those of other religions who dont believe Jesus was the Son of God?? do you think that they cant go to heaven even if they are truly good people?
please number your answers if possible. you can answer all, or whichever ones you want
thanks! i REALLY appreciate your answers!
peace and blessings

think about this...
just say you are jewsih...you were raised jewsih, you follow jewish customs, you practice your faith...you believe that it is the true religion. then...you hear that Jesus is the Son of God and people tell you that He is the only way to the Father. imagine how you would feel..all your life you have believed one thing, and know ppl are telling you something different! who do you believe?? your family and trusted ppl of your religion, or ppl of another faith you do not understand??
isnt it a bit unfair to jews, muslims, buddhists etc.etc. to tell them they cant go to heaven???

That's exactly what He is saying.
1. "No one comes to the Father but by Me." The words of Jesus.
2. The ones that loved God before Jesus were looking forward to what Jesus would do for them. The sacrifices they performed were a fore-shadowing of the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus would make for all humanity. They had faith that God would provide the final sacrifice.
3. Deep inside, everyone is a sinner. That is what separates us from God. Unfortunately there are none that are good. Good does not get you into heaven. It's the shed blood of Christ for the forgiveness of our sins that allows us to get to heaven. All we have to do is accept that sacrifice.
God bless you.

Read the book of Romans in the Bible, especially the first two chapters, but it would make more sense if you read the whole book and even more sense if you read the whole New Testament and more so if you read the whole Bible
If you really must have a short hand version, let's just say that those who were under the Law will be judged according to the Law
Those who are under Law of Grace will be judged according to Law of Grace
Those who are under the law of nature put in all humans by God to seek Him, will be judged by the law of nature.
In each case you are coming through Christ, those who were under the Law were foreshadowing through sacrifices the ultimate Sacrifice at Calvary that is all sufficient
Those under Grace have eternal life through Jesus
Those under the natural law have by nature within the desire to seek the one true God who gave Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our redemption.
All of these involve faith and belief in Jesus Christ, therefore it still stands that Jesus Christ is The ONLY way

1. yes...JOhn 3:16 "God sent his only begotten Son
2. Well it depends if they believed in the One True God they would have gone to Abraham's bossom as that was the place promised before Christ came...Rememeber that Christ's birth is the Messiahnic birth that the Jews have been anticipating all this time.
3. Actiually lots of religions just se Christ as a mere prophet. Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism etc... I'm sorry but according to the Bible unles you believe and recieve Christ as your Lord God and Savior one cannot be with him in Paradise.
Shalom.

Jesus is the only way to heaven, theres salvation only in his name. The bible clearly states that. God gives us free choice, its up to you to accept Jesus. God does not send people to Hell its up to that person to accept Jesus as Lord and Savoir. Any person who doesnt accept Jesus will go to hell. Next all those who Loved God and follow Him before Jesus came and died went to abrahams bosom (hell). Hell at first was just a holding cell in way ,until Jesus came, After Jesus came all the people who loved and followed Gods rules (the law back then) went with him to heaven. Then the bibles says that hell enlarged herself and now it is going to be used for the devil and his demons and everyone who doesnt accept Jesus as Lord and Savoir. Please If you want the scriptures email me and i will give them to you. Everything that i have said is in line with scripture and I can prove it just send me a email and i will do the research and respond to it when I can go through and find the verses be blessed. 1 john 3 verse 16 for God so loved the world to send his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life ,

1-2 The Bible say that everyone will follow Jesus. Above the earth and under the earth. Everyone that ever lived.
3 The Bible says that the body's death does not stop the grace. God goes beyond that, as Jesus proved with Lazarus. It isn't true that after we die physically God cannot forgive our sins. To those who say that, I ask: What do you mean by "God cannot .... "?

It means one of 3 things:
1) God changed his mind on admission to heaven
2) Jesus is the only way to heaven, so everyone before him is screwed.
3. Jesus isn't the only way to heaven.
Edit: Actually, Jesus can't be the only way to heaven. Even christians will tell you that those who've never been exposed to Jesus don't have to play by the same rules....so, there are other ways to heaven.

1. Yes,
2. There is no heaven, and
3. Christians think people who don't find god can't go to heaven.
They are all tactics to make people follow their created god.
