I can only answer for myself. As a Christian, I'm supposed to "spread the gospel to every creature". It's up to you to accept it or not. I'm not going to put you down for what you believe in, I just want you to know that there's more to life than what you may think. It isn't our job to push Christianity onto anyone. All I can do is plant the seed. If it is to grow, then only God will cause the increase. I'm not here to condemn, but to inform.........Peace

I don't ever say that to anyone in here or out here. The fact is, I really don't care one way or the other if anyone else believes in the bible because they know what it is. If they need someone to suggest they pick it up and read it, it'll never get done, anyway. Why bother? As for your pagan or wiccan "religions", I know nothing of either so I always leave them alone. It always amazes why anyone would try to initiate discussion about something they don't believe in already.

Wiccans and Pagans, generally, are just quietly seeking a way to satisfy their natural spiritual yearnings... which everyone has, in one way or another.
Christians, on the other hand, have the misfortune of having become the unwitting dupes of what is essentially a criminal business enterprise... in fact, it is the world's longest running and most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The product they are selling is the illusion of 'salvation'... and the 'pay plan' doesn't kick in until after you're dead. Meanwhile the VICTIMS (having been deceived into believing that it is their God-given duty) are out there busily recruiting MORE victims. What a racket! FORTUNATELY, it only works on those who are gullible enough, and sufficiently lacking in critical thinking skills, to fall for it, and buy in to the prepackaged delusion. UNfortunately, THAT accounts for about 75% of the population of the USA. (There are a lot more people who DON'T know how to think properly than there are people who DO know how to think properly.) That is why there are a lot more religious people in the USA than there are 'Free-thinkers'... including Atheists. Also, Christians are generally too dense to realize that proselytizing (spreading the 'good news') is a key element of the Christian MLM MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity lost the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not comply. Now, they obliviously try to just pester and annoy people to death, through persistent obnoxiousness. If you stop to think about it, you will realize that Christians are very much like the Borg, on Star Trek Next Generation: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." I would not be surprised to learn that thoughts of Christianity provided the 'creative spark' for the Borg concept.

Personally I don't care what other people believe but if they ask me about God I will tell them what I believe or if someone insults my beliefs I will explain my reasons for believing and defend my position. In any event though Christians are trying to convert you because they care about your eternity not because they are mean or manipulative, Christians believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal life so they want to help you see that before it is to late. In your religion I would guess that there are no consequenses for not believing in it so you don't care about other people's fate, Christianity on the other hand does have consequenses for those that don't believe so true Christians try to help those that are in need, it's really because they care and not because they think your evil or that there is something wrong with you (at least they shouldn't feel that way). Now some people may go about it the wrong way and that does turn people off but that doesn't mean all christians are that way. I could go into why I believe christianity to be true but then I would be trying to convert you and I know you don't want that.

lol I had to laugh when I read the response from the person who said you just came to THEIR site to post. This is NOT the Christianity section of Yahoo Answers. This is the Religion & Spirituality, and Wiccans/Pagans/Heathens/et al have just as much right to claim this site as their own.
The reason you don't see the proseltyzing going on is because wiccans/pagans don't feel the need to do that. We accept all positive paths as valid. If it works for you, then that's the right path. Unfortunately, christianity doesn't teach that same thing. It's a "my way is the only way" kind of faith. Christians argue among themselves as to which flavor of christianity is the one true way. If they can't be united as to what is truth, they certainly can't expect us to want to jump on that bandwagon.
Not all christians are like this, however. I know a few, even on here, who don't go preaching at us and who accept our faith as valid. They are the exception that proves the rule.

Maybe because Wiccan is witchcraft and paganism is paganism that's why Christians encourage you to pick up a Bible and pray. That's what they are told to do you know. "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel and lo I am with you always..."

Many of them are taught intolerance. Those are the one who feel they are responsible for forcing their religion on other people.
Gwynn t this is NOT a christian site get over yourself. Christianity is NOT the only religion in the world and this section is religion and spirituality.

But that's not entirely true. Many attack our God, our faith, and challenge us to show proof our God exists. You'll never hear a true christian do that to your gods and goddesses.

Christian clearly know where the evil lays, do not tell me it is not evil as I used to practice these things.
Or perhaps if I started posting the hate mail they send me everyone would see more clearly.
