I don't know. I haven't met one yet, and I've traveled around the country for 10 years. I was 18 when I started, and 28 when I stopped.

Liberal, democrat, etc., when they get into politics, they have to be political professionally. Goodness and badness, etc., are human qualities, which have to be considered, in a de-linked manner, from the profession of politics, although, some overlap of personal qualities and professional applications, do take place. As a politician, first of all you have to meet the higher needs of the organization (party) and "the electorate public and their dependents," while, you have also got to keep matters viable with your innate human qualities, which are independent of party affiliations. If you succeed in keeping the two viable, so far so good. (Handle mafias too, in some countries!)
Inability to keep things viable, as described above, will make you a failure. And if you are too sensitive, about sometimes not being able to work, in keeping with your personal qualities, you may become a case of schizophrenic depression. Politics is NOT a game, for those who have weak stomachs. The masses (public), generally, do not understand this difficult side of political appointments / jobs. Public, usually notices only the "glamorous part," the cost of which, may sometimes be far too demanding. The public does NOT usually care, although, they, themselves, "always" elect whatever government they really deserve, and get results accordingly. Public does not acknowledge its responsibility, although, in a real democracy, the government stands on the strength of public mandate.

I have seen with my own eyes through the years how politics change "good" people into not so good people, especially those who back the democratic party, because it's the party that supports a peson's right to kill their unborn, that supports a person's right to try to get the words "one nation under God" taken out of the pledge of alligence, supports people who want to remove any symbols of Christianity from public places. God speaks in the bible of taking those who reject and spur Him and plowing them into the earth. Powerful message. He can either make or break a person, depending on whether we honor Him, or turn our backs on His commandments.
