btw guys? Luke was not a disciple, he was a doctor who set out to disprove that Jesus was in fact the Christ. He never knew Jesus.
Okay, here goes with what I know lol:
Matthew was a tax collector
Simon (later called Peter) was a fisherman
Andrew was a fisherman and follower of John the Baptist
John also a fisherman
James, brother of John, also a fisherman
Phillip - no one really knows except that he was a learned man and was married with a wife and kids
Bartholomew (sometimes called Nathaniel) was a common laborer as far as anyone knows, but the only thing mentioned about his life before Jesus is that he was an Israelite and a friend of Philip.
Thomas was supposedly the brother of Jesus, it may be assumed he was also in the carpentry business, but that is not based upon evidence, just assumption.
James, also considered to be a brother to Jesus, but no mention is made of his profession ... about all we know is that he was also married.
Simon (not Peter, but "the Canaanite"), his former occupation is unknown, other than he was a "zealot"
Judas was commonly referred to as an "insurrectionist", but some believe that he was a Judean assassin (something to do with his name Iscariot ... but I never really understood that part)
One unnamed (usually called St. Jude but it's up for debate what his name really was) - his occupation is also unknown.

You need to remember that these disciples were teenagers except Peter (only Peter and Jesus paid temple tax, its paid by above 19yrs old). 1. Matthew the obvious Tax collector; 2. Andrew and 3. Peter fisher boys; 4. John and 5. James fisher boys in daddy Zebedee business; 6. Judas was the youngest teenager from a poor background with no parents and Jesus loved him and when He(Jesus) died He let His mom take care of him; 7. Bartholomew aka Nathaneal was a bible scholar very serious about the law. 8. Thomas was just a kid in the village, mixed parents one Hebrew one Greek 9. James and 10. Jude were just kids in the village. Jude though had a very strong 'give me solutions not problems' kind of attitude, take over, power, get to the point approach. 11. Phillip was a preacher, very warm hearted 12. Simon was a bible scholar as well more on the law side like Paul

Without doing any research, some were fishers, a tax collector, and Luke a doctor. I am not sure that each apostle's social position is shown in the Bible.
Paul was highly educated. Thus it is obvious that God put this deep knowledge to use in making Paul write so much of the Christian scriptures. He like no other apostle ties the OT and NT together and shows how things fit.

Matthew=publican(tax collector)
Peter, James, John=fishermen
Paul was an enemy of the church.
Luke was a doctor
1 was a scribe
But the I don't think the Bible says what all of them were. Though they were mostly common laborers.

The Disciples (followers) originally did things like; farm, make utensils, carpentry, roofing, store owner, gatherer of wood and camel dung for fires, harvested salt, were unemployed for the moment, helpers, cooks, persecutors against Jesus, etc. The Apostles came from disciples that chose to follow Jesus.

The Apostles represented a cross section of Jewish life ;; carpenters, laborers, fishermen, merchants, bureaucrats, though none of them was a doctor or lawyer, tradition has it that one was a mender of nets, another a plasterer.
Peace...
