The 70% does not include the whole United States. I definitley support this war because do you want another 9/11 attack to happen? Its like everyone is complaining we are there but if we never did go, we would have never killed Saddam which was huge. So instead of most libs always finding the negative things about the war -try and think of something positive for once.

Well let's see if we can get this straight, you are speaking for 70% of the AMerican people obivously when you state this.
SO how did you learn this little secret because that would be impossible to accomplish. Polls show AMericans want the mission completed and then the troops brought home. That one is pretty much a fact.
But for the moment lets go with your little prevarication.
When you elect someone are they supposed to call you daily to find out what to do, or are they supposed to do what they think is right regardless of "public opinion"? The only opinion that counts is in the voting both, so you seem to be wrong on the second premise that they are not listening. They were elected it is now their responsibility to do what "THEY" believe is right.
So going further, you are making threats about the next election, again you seem to have a pretty high opinion of yourself.
When you say Fine American people, what you mean to say is I hate americans and wish them all dead. You see, you are transparent, you are not an AMerican.
Now I am curious, you have to either be paid to do this, or you are in support of the terrorists?
Which is it?

What the numbers actually say is 70% disapporve of the handling of the war. A majority of Americans want us to win the peace, since we have already won the war.
Some people in that 70% think we are being to soft, and some think we should not be there at all. When you look at the details, a slim majority of Americans want us to stay and win, but only if we can actually win.

I'd like to know where you're getting this 70% from as well. I for one never had a chance to answer any opinion poll about Iraq or the war. Did you? Probably not. What you should say is "70% of the people polled" want us out. And of course, the liberal media is going to question as many folks as they can who will give them the answer they're looking for, and skip over those of us who believe we need to finish the job.

Well, I hate to even admit this. I hate this war, and believe it was a big mistake, and I always have. I never supported going into Iraq. But we can't go back in time and change it,we did go in and now we have to find the best solution to this problem. Saddam had kept Iran neutralized for decades, and we go in and do Iran's dirty work for them. But here is the painful fact. Al-Qaeda was not there under Saddam, but they certainly are now. If we just haul butt out'a Iraq now it will become a breeding ground for Al-Qaeda terrorist training camps and terrorists. I don't think "Staying the course" is the answer, or this little "surge' but I also don't think jsut leaving is going to be the answer either. We need to fix what we broke. And as much as every one blames Bush (he did lie to us and congress and present false evidence and cherry picked intelligence), we all have a portion of the blame to bear. the media failed us. and we all condemened any one who questioned the governments declaration of war as anti american "love it or leave it" is all you heard, and "you shouldn't question a president in a time of war" but I say that is the time when you should question him the most, because the concequences are the most dire. If it wasn't for public support Congress would not have voted for authorization. Now we are faced with what to do, to clean up this mess and not leave something that will create a more dangerous world when we leave.
Another problem we have is due to the problems in Iraq, we are not respected by our enemies anymore, and that is extremely dangerous. we need to re-establish ourselves and show our enemies why we are the last remaining Global superpower. Here is my thoughts on fixing this.
Re-create an invasion type force with involvment of a coalition of other countries and the UN that rivals that of the first Gulf War, that will take diplomacy, and obviously another President. We send in a massive force unlike any that they have ever seen in recent memory and we secure the country, we get the citizens, running water, electricity and plumbing. we secure the borders and truly declare war on the terrorists and show Iran, that this will be an increasingly difficult and costly endeavor should they continue to pursue their current course of action. This will bring countries like, Iran and Syria to the bargaining table, with us having the uper hand Once the violence quiets it gives this Iraqi flegling democracy a chance to take root and establish itself, because with the current violence it is next to impossible.
So, that is my painful assesment of the only successful course of action. Any other option just leaves the next generation with a more dangerous world and more bloody battles to fight.

Because 70% of Americans can't be bothered to research the facts.
There's a bigger picture in this "war" as you call it.
It's like a big line of dominos. Would you rather have a president try to stop a flow that has started and well on its way, or keep it happening in the first place?
Just because YOU are not privy to reams of military and political intelligence gathered by the best minds and equipment in the world, doesn't make you even remotely capable of making an INFORMED decision about the President's use of the military and why he's using it that way.

because if we did this now (take out our troops) they would just follow us and kill innocent people in our homeland and this is something we try not to do. remember these peoples morals are sadly very different. unfortuantly we are there and that is where we need to be until the job is finished. i certainly dont want another 9/11 or a whole war here in america.

Because this mysterious factoid of "70%" comes from public opinion surveys where the surveyors ask jerkweeds like you, erudite, what we should do.
None of them has ever contacted me or any of my friends, who might give them very different answers. Ones that didn't fit their pre-conceived notions.

See? I can make up statistics just as well as YOU can!

Because its up to our president and our troops. Who cares how the "supporters" feel....its not up to them. Its up to the man in charge and the ones who are actually fighting the war. Support them since they have almost no say in fighting or not fighting.
