Blessed are those who haven't seen yet believe. They shall inherit the Kingdom. If you haven't faith or love in your heart, then all this does seem far fetched, I agree. However...

Put the bible aside and go to history of the times and of the
Roman empire....The person Jesus lived.....that is written in history.....he had an affect on the people in the area in lived....that is also documented in history...the government of the times was concerned enough about the following that they persecuted the believers....that is documented....the believers who were there when the man Jesus was put to death stood by what they beleived to be true even when facing death...that is documented......through documented history aside from the bible something was going on with the man Jesus.....so the documention show the man Jesus lived and that he made a great impact in many ways all in just a 3 year period that has lasted to this day......
Now that Jesus is the only way to heaven is based on the Christian view.....you have to use the Bible to follow that....Jesus said in the Bible I am the way (to get to Heaven)...to a Christian that is what it is all about....to a Christian Heaven is about the Father and the Son...so yes you do need to use the Bible for that...
Other faiths believe differently....it is up to you to put together what you believe....if YOUR FAITH says to get to heaven all you have to do is be good....so be it....the question there is what is good....how do you never sin...what is sin so you know that you are never sinning......what is good to some may be bad to others...
Me personally I am spiritual but not so much religious...but I am a scholar and study people and behavior much.....it is a deep and interesting subject...my advice to you and other on here always question what you think you know and understand..

I believe that the bible definition of sin is that we fall short of the standard of perfection. All of us are imperfect so we all fall short of that standard every day it is not possible for us to be completely perfect we can only do the best that we can.
I believe that everyone is offered the chance to find out about God if they want to. We all know where the churches are if we choose not to go there that is a conscious decision.
People believe that Jesus is the key to get to heaven because you have to have faith in the sacrifice he gave in order to repent of your sins. Faith is the expectation of things yet unseen.
I do not have any reason to doubt jesus existance i was not there at the time and can only go on the eyewitness accounts of people who say that they saw him.
What i read in the bible made sense to me. I took time to study it deeply i did not just swallow it parrot fashion. I questioned it until i believed i had found answers that made sense to me and i have seen things in my life which i believe happened because i was protected by God.
When i look around me i can see the difference between man made things and nature. I see the way people treat each other when they rebel against religions.

If I'm not mistaken, the Catholic Church does allow those that have never had the chance to experience a saving faith, to still avoid hell and therefore obtain Heaven.
Calvinists (I'm one) do not allow an "acceptance" since we have no ability to seek out God on our own. Getting to Heaven is not about avoiding hell. In other words, due to the fall of man through Adam, all have fallen short of the glory of God and therefore deserve hell. That's kind of a hard pill to swallow, but when bad things happen in your life, you really have to think about whether you deserve any better anyway.
Belief itself therefore cannot come to us internally. It must come from an exterior source, and this is explained readily enough in Romans 8:30 through predestination, calling, justification, and glorification. And this takes an enormous amount of love if we are the "filthy rags" of Isaiah 60 4:6. Calvinism is often described as a "robot theology" but Calvinists themselves see man as slaves to Satan and the ways of the world anyway, with God freeing them from the robots that they already are.
If you believe what Jesus said about being "the way, the truth, and the life" then yes, he is the only way to "get to heaven." But God is the one to give anyone the ability to step back for second and take a look at themselves for who they really are before the Lord and repent. Yes, there is a joy in knowing that you were pulled from the world's march to Hell, and that joy itself is a participation in God's salvation of others through witnessing. It also gives us a different look at salvation itself, being from eternity to eternity rather than a specific date of decision and a dividing line of death that separates love and wrath.

Let's except that the power for all this comes from God.
Logic and common sense says he that has the power makes the rules. Further, why should he do anything special for those who ignore or actively fight against him and his standards? None of us would. Why should he?
The car I'm driving wrecks into the river. I can have all the faith in the world I can breathe under water sitting behind the wheel. You know what? I still die.
Proper faith in the right things is important. Without proper works of getting out of the sunk car, I still am dead. We must find what God wants us to do and do it. Otherwise, why should God do anything for ujs?

I am Catholic therefore I believe Jesus is the way to God, it is my personal choice to believe so but I am not crazy enough to believe all the Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist will go to hell because they don`t believe in Jesus Christ. A person with a good heart, following the path of goodness that believes into a higher power will be noticed by God.

Because Jesus rose from the dead.
Buddha didn't. Muhammad didn't. Confucious didn't.
Jesus did. People saw him after he died. Previously He raised a man from the dead who had been rotting for three days to illustrate that point ahead of time.
If this was not true, and just a made up story by a bunch of disgruntled Jews (remember, the early Christian believers were all Jewish), why would they all, to the last man, be willing to be tortured and killed for it?
Would you make up a religion and stick with it when the opposition kills you and your family? Didn't think so.

you know i felt exactly like that before I became a christian. (Dont worry..i wont be preaching all about why Jesus is so good)
Well..before I was a believer, my life was pretty much messed up. I had problems within my family and major relationship problems with some of my friends. It was definitely really stressfull...I couldnt stand going to school and I just wanted to lock myself out from all my miseries.
Later I found out, that a lot of people had been praying for me...the thing is due to all the problems I had..God gave me a chance to talk to him. I guess it was selfish of me to just look at God just because I had my problems...and I felt that if God was God..an if I prayed..He might have been able to solve all my problems...I wanted him to.
Since I became a believer, Ive had life-turning events. God protected me, he guided me, he saved my life (literally)...do you remember the tsunami in Indonesia? I was actually going to go to an island that was effected by the tsunami..so if I went i probably would have gotten hurt or died...it basically torn everything down there....something happened all of a sudden...something wrong with the schedule so we postponed it..
I believe in Jesus because of what he did to me...and after believing by experience...I believed in His words..because it made sense.
Im not going tell you to accept Jesus..that is not my business to do. But I encourage you to read the bible and understand what the Creator of this world has to say..even though he has every right to make us believe...I garuntee...when you start to know what Im talkin about it..you'll feel it too..

Standardized Answer
OK I am getting the hang of this game. This will be my standard answer to your "standardized" questions.
Atheist, agnostics and believers in alternate religions: at the top of the Y/A page there is a search box. Type your question in there and Yahoo will take you to a page that lists all the questions like yours that have been asked and answered. Believe me YOUR question has been asked and the answer is in there.
For those with a serious question I will endeavor to give you the best answer I can given my humble understanding of the Word.

Entry to the kingdom of god is not through belief but a change in consciousness, a change in mind set, a change in orientation leading away from ego delusion of separation towards one of unity with the source. The best way to achieve this is through practising unconditional love and forgivenness with everyone no matter what. Whether or not one believes something absurd -such as that God requires a blood sacrifice to forgive sin, has no impact one way or another on your salvation(or release from carnal suffering). This should be obvious to anyone but isn't because so-called christians worship a false god of their own devising who promises a simplistic, automatic way to heaven which is not the case. see www. askrealjesus.com for the full story. i don't have time top describe the workings of heaven here, it would take billions of years. Just trust me - salvation is not through accepting a doctrine, but through contacting your inner christ.

The Old Testament Saints (people who believed in GOD-- Moses, King David, GOD's People in the Wilderness etc.) couldn't even go to Heaven UNTIL they got their Spirits Recreated.
Those People had to wait in a place called "Paradise" (right beside of a place called Hell) until Jesus died on the Cross (making it possible for Human Beings to get Born-Again (spiritman RECREATED)) and came down there and Preached the Word of GOD (how we get our spirits Recreated) THEN THEY could go on up to Planet Heaven, where no Human Being had been befor---THEY woulda' burned-up and ceased to exist if Human Beings went up to Heaven "Unprotected" (not born-again).
Ditto...........
