I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

Its good to have a target but dont set your sights too high. Give your self a bit more time to loose the weight you want and only check your weight every few weeks. But it is important to set targets and goals.
Record all this in a diary along with your eating habits. If you record all the food you eat you will be more likely to cutt the bad things out. Try making small changes also grill, boil, steam instead of frying food. Have less sugar in your tea etc little things like that can help.
Get at least 30 mins exercise a day, this doesnt have to be at the gym there are lots of things you can do at home or find a sport you enjoy doing.
If you can find a friend so you can work together it will be more fun and you will have somone to support you. Also try and stay away from temptations or even people that can bring back to your old ways (alchol for example is just empty calories & cigs are just bad for you) if only for now.
Good luck I hope you get the results you are looking for. Well done for not being a lazy bum and wanting surgery the quick fix.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

You could try Paul McKennas System for weight loss. His book 'I can make you slim' is very good and has a hypnosis CD at the back. I haven't used the CD just the book and dropped 5lbs in 3 days, but nothing last 3 days so I guess it's evened itself out. Give it a try. It also makes you actually feel more energetic too so exercise may be more enjoyable.
Pilates is supposed to be good for quick toning.
Hope this helps.

Exercise more and include aerobic and weight bareing, eat more healthy, drink plenty of water (sometimes we mistake thirst for hunger), weigh yourself weekly in the morning. Use a favorite item of clothing that no longer fits to measure your body shape changing each week. Have a little bit of what you fancy as long as it does not take you over your calorie limit.

Find a new boyfriend that should the trick. Every time i need to get in shape I just get a new person in my life. Forget the gym and the diets they don't work. This method has been tested and it really works. (don't get someone who is waiting for marriage though)

Work out a bit. Loads of things that you could do. Just a 45 min walk a day should help. Try losing it indoors if you've got a boyfriend!
