the answer is simple no. and you should be pelted with a ton of bananas for asking such a ridiculous question. are you even a UFC fan at all? is the point of this question just to try and make a statement against the UFC and MMA? grow up and keep stupid @$$ questions like that to yourself.

well i have seen that video on the internet about an awesome orangutan that was taught martial arts. It scares me how much better apes and monkeys can be at their balance and how they move themselves, compared to us.
A gorilla would definitely be undefeated. It is definitely possible to teach him martial arts.
I must disagree with the person who said it would go on a rampage. Gorillas are very gentle creatures and people can literally walk up to them and interact, this happens and is documented. The same cannot be said for chimps.
Also, you could just teach the gorilla the rules of the UFC by incorporating them somehow into his training regiment.

Been watching too much episodes of Baki the Grappler haven't we? In answer to your question, NO a Gorilla couldn't compete in the UFC for the simple fact that it would be very difficult for any referee to impart the rules of the Octagon to the Beast. Remember, in the octagon, once an opponent has tapped out, been knocked unconscious or is clearly not able to defend himself and therefore in danger of being seriously injured, the fight will be stopped. A 300 pound Gorilla swinging away like mad or crushing a guy in it's massive arms is not likely to stop short of being shot just because his human opponent tapped out or is unconscious. Despite the claim of being a reality fight tournament, the reality of death inside the ring is not a part of the UFC's program.

I doubt the UFC would allow this, if they did I am sure PETA would have a problem with people fighting an animal. The whole thing reminds me of the Roman gladiators who often fought animals for the entertainment of the masses.
A gorilla would kill people, their natural form of combat is to decapitate things.
Years ago there was a chimp that someone claimed they taught judo too.

A gorilla, a chimp could defeat a man. Why use a gorilla? For that matter why not just start putting lions in the cage with a fighter. Gladiators we shall be once more.
Get real.

As long as said gorilla was in my weight class, I like my chances. He probably has no ground game or takedown defense and would have no idea how to pass my guard. And I'm sure his guard would be very weak and I'd gain side control very easily. He'd probably be easy to get into a kimura or rear naked choke. I'd make him tap out in the first round. Only a crazy person would want to stand up against a gorilla

Gorillas are usually peaceful creatures, but you wouldn't want to piss one off. It is estimated the average gorilla could bench-press 4 000 pounds, which is about 4 times the human records.
That wouldn't be a fight. It would be an execution of the human involved. The gorilla would simply rip him to shreds.

no the ufc has a weight limit of 265lbs. gorillas are much heavier. he could go to the pride open weight division and fight. I don't think it would need any training though

Who knows, if Kimbo Slice starts winning MMA fights then maybe we'll see him in the UFC then we'll find out how well Gorillas do. However, i am confident he won't make it past Mercer.
