Except that the good feelings and good times end when the buzz ends with alcohol whereas religion and faith of a God or Gods keeps the buzz going and going?

It's more like smoking, because second hand smoke kills too.

(And also because the more educated a person is, the less likely they are to smoke)

That's actually a very interesting point.
Yes, I believe that believing in a god is addictive like alcohol. People cling to the belief, they NEED the belief to get through their day. It's very sad.
I've even seen some christians say that they have no reason to live if there's no magical man in the sky.

There's only one difference. Believeing in a god is much more harmful than alcohol.

Strong religious experiences effect chemical changes in the brain the same way that drugs do. The good news is that there is help for god-addicts. I'll be happy to help if you want to get off the junk.

I see you have been a member since May 2006, that is a year you have been on here.

Something must be addictive.

I am amazed I keep coming back and I have only been on here a month. LOL

If you call worshiping God addiction, you are wrong.

Its something we "need".

Addiction is most of the times something that is bad for us (smoking for example).
