Why would man come up with God to worship and praise to make no profit from it at all? Why was there no personal gain to the true disciples and followers? If man is capable of doing what man wants to do, then why make up a higher being and praise it? What would be the reason for thinking there is someone better than you, when you are fully capable of doing everything on your own and think you're good at it? Why form God when there is man?

I'm just wondering. And just so you know, I am a believer in God, questioning both followers and non-followers alike.

You feel and breathe the air and yet don't see it. You see the beauty of nature and yet don't doubt it exists. The miracle of conception is a given and not questioned. Remember, you can influence your life by the choices you make. God does not want us to be robots. Instead of destroying Adam and Eve when they sinned, he allowed mankind to continue to exist with the knowledge of good and evil (Ability to reason and make choices). We are the only creature known to exist that has this ability. Jesus said blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe. This is a matter of faith. If you truly are a Christian then you would not question your faith in God or his existence. He is Alpha and Omega (Beginning and End), He is I AM. I suggest the P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens) method until you have no doubts. God bless you.

It is very simple.Man created God because in the time that men created the concept of higher beings or "Gods" they were not very advanced scientifically and needed answers to questions such as "why does the sun rise and fall" or "why are we here" or "what happens when we die" or "why do bad things happen" or "why are there so many stars in the night sky" or "why do some people get sick".These questions, along with many more like them, gave early civilizations the need for answers. And, so, the wisest of them, and mind you that even the wisest of them still were not very wise, created the concept of deities to answer all the "unanswerable" questions. And the more they created this concept the more convincing they could make the concept by creating better "Gods" and then they came up with their best idea and narrowed it to one "God".But it all boils down to seeking answers to every question. And the best answer, however unrealistic it might actually be, is the quick and easy answer.Greedy clergy and religious war mongering came later once it was discovered that religion had more uses then just answering questions.

God created the heavens and the earth and everything besides man in it by just speaking to show that everything natural is created out of the spiritual. Man cannot do this and he is not God. Man can only perform miracles with the power of God working through him. So God has more power and ability than man and therefore deserves all thanksgivings, praise and worship from men out of their love and adoration for Him..

When man is stumped trying to figure what created the universe God becomes the default. We just don't know people. What I do know if there was a God this entity has nothing to do with creating the limiting bibles the religious say is God’s word. Man is left to his own devices to figure out how to live peacefully on this planet. As long as we argue over a God, that doesn’t have a voice of his own, this takes away energies that can be used to solve real issues on this planet.

because someone realized that man didn't put himself here.
and that life had to be about more than personal gain. and last every species has a hierarchy, since we have so much more intellect, we needed a much higher level to sustain us thru the things that we not only don't understand, but find it hard to cope with at times. personal gain cannot give you this. and as a christian I believe that without God there would be no man. Man did not form God. God formed man, and everything else.

My dear,
Man is not permanant. Man will born, man will die. This world is not the man's home. This world is just a temporary home. Man will have to leave this home one day.

Who is man? Man is God. Man is a drop of the ocean of God. Man can do alot of things because he is originated from God. His original home is the house of God, the region above the eye center.

Man's true job in this world is to search for the truth, the truth is his original home, with God. As long as a man is not merged with God, he will continue to suffer in this world, either as a human being or as any other creature.

We are a war making species. Gods came from a desire for one side and the other's need to believe it has an edge.

God is security as dad and mom were when we were infants. So God is an extension of those images we had as infants.

How ironic, I'm a believer too, and yet my question is, why wouldn't a man believe there is a God? If you are a believer, why would you ask??

it wasn't about "profit" back in those days...when humans acquired the intelligence to appreciate the beauty of nature, but didn't have the knowledge to explain things..they made up God as a way of explanation....for example, when they couldn't explain thunder..they thought they must have made the God/s angry by their bad behaviour

this belief was enforced by the leaders of tribes who wanted to have total control by their people...so they pretended that they were God's messengers...

heard about the oracle in Delphi (Greece) where the priestesses used to pretend that she was passing messages from Gods to people?
