I bought a cookbook "Top Secret Recipes", it's a soft cover book, I'm sure if you were to go to amazon and search the title you'd be able to pick it up used. I bought it JUST for the KFC recipe but found this guy has got so many others in there that it would be fun for you to tell the kids "It's burger king night!" He has big macs, including special sauce so you can have a Mickey D's, night too" He even copies popular candy bars. I thinks it's awesome that you all have dinner together and that you've taught your children to be adventurous with food, to try it before they turn up their nose at it, as my mom always said to us! Sorry, I don't mean to be sappy, but I think you must be a great parent!

I've tried a few, but those fast food restaurants and other take-out places have a secret it's hard for us to duplicate: industrial equipment. For example, KFC uses a specially designed deep-fryer/pressure cooker. A restaurant can afford expensive equipment like that, but the average kitchen, even those who have professional cooks at the helm, cannot afford that kind of stuff. So, I do what I do, and what I learn on Food Network, and we're all happy.

Go to SelfHelp.com - they give recipes for all the major take-aways and restaurants. I know that KFC is among them. Good luck.

I make Olive Garden's pasta fagioli soup. Though it's not take out, I've pretty much got it down to taste just like the restaurant's. I make it a couple times a year.
