Eating fast causes your body to absorb more of the calories you take in. Make sure you chew well, so that the enzyme in your saliva can finish the first stage of digestion.
Also, even though you don't see an obvious drop in weight, you are likely losing fat and gaining muscle. Fat is lighter than muscle, so it is less detectable when you're actually burning it up. So don't be discouraged. You sound like you're on the right track. There's no short cut to anything.

I am observing a home made system that works.
I try to walk -- running not needed -- at least 8000 steps a day, some days it becomes 15-20000, because I try to walk everywhere, also for light shopping.
Next, here is the diet. It is easy and nice.
You have your breakfast, lunch, dinner as usual -- eat not too much and not too little, eat to your satisfaction!
You may even have some snack around 2-3PM, a little chocolate, or apple pie, an ice-cream what ever you like.
The catch is this. Supper should ultimately be at 4PM and under no circumstances later than 6PM. After supper NO MORE FOOD for that day.
Hunger pains, I have found are stopped by drinking black real coffee, no sugar or milk, etc. This seems to stop any hunger pangs for the evening.
I
am loosing about 4 pounds a month. This weight loss has been steady for at least two years.

You need to relax. Eat less, move about a little less, if not for light, steady exercise. Get the heart pumping and sweat but in endurance. No need to make huge efforts, you'll only tense up your muscles, won't be able to move as much, need more food to cope with the tension (unconsciously)...take it easy, wait a long while. After doing 10 push ups, your muscles work in the same way 3-5 hours after.....stay cool, stop over-exercising. And Stretch! Not in the classical way, do somatic muscle control.

well i think you just answered your own question. the exercising is helping you NOT to gain the weight from the food you are shoveling down. it's all about the discipline and it seems like you are starving yourself or not eating appropriately if you have to eat like a pig. eat more throughout the day (5 or 6 times) in small portions and you'll most likely see some weight loss. the healthiest meal should be your dinner.. a salad with some chicken breast, for example.

Erm, the diet is the main part to losing weight. No matter how much or how little you weigh, the regularity with how you eat is almost completely responsible for controlling your metabolism, and therefore how fast your body burns fat.
Eat 3 decently portioned meals per day at (relatively) the same time and fer gawds sake, slow down when you eat! Your posterior will thank you when it's time to drop the kids off at the pool! (And you'll absorb more nutrients as well.) :P

YOU ARE EATING THE WRONG FOODS, TOO MUCH TOO FAST AND TOO MANY CALORIES OVERALL. THE REASON WHY YOU ARE NOT LOSING WEIGHT AQSFAST AS YOU WISH IS BECAUSE YOU ARE EATING TOTAL CALORIES MUCH MORE THAN YOU CAN BURN THEM BY EXERCISING. EATING CERTAIN CARBOHYDRATED FOODS SUCH AS BREAD, CEREALS AND HAMBURGERS ARE ALL THE WRONG FOODS FOR LOSING WEIGHT. WHY? THEY ALL END UP TURNED TO FAT.
