Sterilized seed that's been steamed in order to eliminate viable seeds and sprouting.

Sorry but seeds are life and many unpopular infestations can be caused be bird seed so dispose of chaff or hulls that may still contain whole seeds into the garbage. Outdoor seed is not all ways weed or problem free so just use sunflower seeds this is good for all birds this way if they grow bonus more seed free, but small mixed bird seed can contain many baddies and unless you know what it contains it may be a real nightmare. For birds in general, stay away from the cracked corn , get the next grade up.
We have Blue jays and cardinals often,.plus the usual cast of sparrows, finches and doves and squirrels.
