You know she needs to learn good nutritional habits, not just for now, but for the future to protect against diseases such as type 2 diabetes. Talk to her and explain the reasons for eating her vegetables. Fix them for the family dinner and insist that she at least taste everything you've prepared. When I did this with my teenagers, they discovered that they actually LIKE some vegetables. You might also have her doctor talk with her. If these measures fail, then maybe it's time to withhold some privileges. Also, do you set a good example for her. Is there junk food in the house? It's hard, but you're the adult, she's the child. You're still the boss. Good luck.

I'm sure you've already tried the educational approach: telling her how green vegetables really have a great impact on her health, and in the long run! But since teenagers are not very sensible, try telling her that they will have a great contribution to her beauty, which usually works. That her skin, hair, and overall physical appearance will be enhanced with regular intake of these. Finally, try 'cheating' her by camouflaging them (in cream soups or salads) among other kinds of food if the serious talk fails.

Nowadays, many parents are worried with this problem.
It's not the taste that matters to the child. But it looks like that. It is the (dis)respect that the child shows to the food. Will any child in Somalia do such a thing? Never.
So take your child to an orphanage or a slum and just show her(don't talk) the difficulties that people face to get food.
Then she will start respecting food(not only vegetables).

V-8 has a new fruity tasting drink. The drink is loaded with fruits AND plenty of vegetables, But the taste of the veggies don't come through. The drink is not thick, but more like Kool-Aid. Your daughter will love it.

hi,
I appreciate your good self that your are a nice parent and take every care of your kid, but this is the common problem in the families of current era.
In my opinion, First you need to know her favourite tasty eating habits, what does she like to eat in meal.
then try to learn the cooking of the same. After learning (up to appreciation of your daughter) of her favourite, prepare the same with including the PASTED (in mixer) RAW GREEN VEGETABLE (you can also add the natural nutrients like tomato, carrot, chilly etc.)with out telling her. try to avoid the cooking on high temperature. otherwise you will satisfied about the nutrition but same have been decompose during cooking.
then just measure her mood and try to feed her not in harry but with in a period of at least one hours.
I am sure you will find the good feed back & result.
pl. reply.
regards
harendra

Umm just don't force in fact let her eat what she wants I mean as long as it's good for her I was a skinny childed because I was picky and my family didn't give me what I liked, they prepare food the way they wanted to with sauces or veggies, I never eat a meal in peace or enjoyed a meal, having to pick stuff out or wipe sauces off the hambuger and still kind of being able to taste the sauce, which was very sad and depressing, there's other ways to get what your body needs it is called vitamins! find foods that she likes and can enjoy! despite what you like!!!!

Have you tried maybe when making spaghetti meat sauce, grate carrot, onion, garlic and zucchini. add a bottle of pasta sauce and simmer, see if she will notice, or you could make hamburgers and grate veggies into the meat and shape them as normal and cook them and just add cheese, tomato, mayo and letuce. The trick is to hide it as much as you can in foods. If all fails ten you really need to force her to eat at least some, don't give her anything else and when she gets hungry she will eat them trust me.

Show her pictures of the children that are not getting vegetable in other countries. Tell her to look at their stomachs, because that is how her stomach will look. Lack of yellow and green vegetables will make the stomach swell. I am sure that she doesn't want her stomach looking like a balloon.

Variety is spice of life. Modify the green vegetables and feed her. My kids do not eat leafy vegetables but if we give them stuffed parathas with leafy vegetable, they enjoy.

At her age nutrition is important. Some options:
-Check with your doc to see what vitamins she may need to take instead.
-Take charge and feed her the veggies. This is your house; your rules.
-Conceal them in other foods. You could blend some up in a blender and turn it into a smoothie while concealing the taste with something more potent. Make a carrot cake, etc.
