Be well rested the night before. Eat well that day and eat something while drinking. Most importantly is stay HYDRATED. Drink water during the day and while drinking have at least a glass of water after each drink.
As far as what you drink you're better of going for the more expensive alcohol because it typically is distilled more throughly than the cheaper varities. The better it is distilled the more toxic substances are removed. Also, clear alcohol like vodka and gin are less likely to cause hangover because the darker alcohols and liquors go through a fermentation process that creates higher levels of toxins.
There also are some products on the market that you can take while drinking (like Chaser) that absorb alot of the toxins that will contribute to hangover. Me and some of my friends have used them and they seem to work pretty good.
Hope this Helps!

Eat a meal with a fair amount of grease before and after drinking. The key is to not eat too much. If you do, you will feel too full to drink, or will have an upset stomach. Also, before you go to bed, drink as much water as you can and take a couple advil. When you wake up in the morning, begin drinking water stat. And then as soon as possible, eat something greasy like a breakfast burrito or cheeseburger. If you really do a good job and are smashed and feeling green in the morning, this may be the last thing that you want to do. But do it! It will save you. Drink water, eat, and then lay low or even sleep. Usually the second time you wake up you'll feel much better, although maybe the synapses won't be firing at normal speed. If you do have Jaegermeister, do it early in the night and not too much of it- it's the devil. That's because it is sweet. If you stick to drinks that are mostly vodka or just shots of vodka, you'll be in good shape. Vodka is a "clean" alcohol as evidenced by its clarity. Others like whisky and rum are too sweet. I've never drunk so much and felt good in the morning as I have with vodka.

Eat while you are drinking this causes the alcohol to absorb more slowly into your system. It may take more but it definitely helps in the morning. Most importantly DRINK WATER the majority of a hangover in the morning is from being dehydrated. However hangovers cannot be avoided completely because the alcohol is what causes them but these tips will help.

Drink a TON of water before going to bed. Of course you'll have to get up a couple of times in the night, but I promise your hangover will be so much better.

Try to slip in a big glass of water between drinks (to make that easy, order a drink and a glass of water at the same time). Try to eat (yes, go to the fast food store and get junk on the way home!!!). Drink about a litre of water before you go to bed, take an aspirin and a multivitamin before you go to bed. When you decide to wake up, drink salvital, water and gatorade.
Better yet, just don't get drunk!

First of all stay away from cheap ANYTHING!!! Drink plenty of water ... and make sure you have food on your system. However if drinking large amounts ... getting a hangover is slightly unavoidable. There are types of pre drinking medication., but I've never tried. Enjoy!!!

Make sure you eat and have a chance to digest at least 30 min. MODERATION,you dont have to get ****-faced, but if you do, drink some beer the next day, and smoke a lil something, then drink water to rehydrate yourself.

Don't drink so much the night before. Everyone has a limit. Know it, and cut yourself off.
