Im trying to find a refrence on how many minutes of recording time I can expect to get on a DVD in the EP Mode and also in the MLP Mode....it does not say in my instruction book.
On the Package the DVD's came in, it refrence the SP mode as 120 minutes of recording time, and the LP mode 240 minutes.

You need to find the bit rate associated with EP and MLP (for example 2 Mbits/s or 4 Mbits/s, etc.) Then, given that a DVD is about 5 GB you can estimate the max. recording time.

Standard Play and Extended Play - refers to the tape speed. A typical VHS cassette will hold 2 hours of recording in SP, 4 hours in EP. By slowing the tape speed (EP), you get more "hourage" per cassette at the expense of some video quality.
