First of, the appearance of the words Christian, Jesus and hate in one sentence seems to nullify everything Jesus stands for. Jesus is all about love, understanding and tolerance. Christians who who use Jesus' principles as a way to spread hate are ignorant of Jesus' teachings in the first place. People who do this may not be true Christians at all.

True Christians shouln't. I am a Christian and personally, I can't stand those who call themselves Christians, yet they don't act like them. If we want to get through to anybody on this earth, it will not happen while we tell you that you are going to hell. Christians are supposed to love the sinner, just hate the sin, yet everyday on here I see so -called Christians telling people that they are the scum of the earth because they do not believe in God.
I can not judge anybody, because I am not perfect, as no one is. I just wish that people would understand that we are not supposed to FORCE God on anybody. We are supposed to act like Jesus would, with compassion and love, and pray that his will is done. I guarantee that those who do show love will convert more people without even saying anything to the person about God. I guess the saying is true, Actions speak louder than words.

We do not hate people of other religions. If you see a "Christian" acting hatefully they are in sin because we are supposed to love everyone. The only time you saw Jesus get angry was at the religious leaders not toward those who were not in the faith or leaders. We do believe that Jesus is the only way to Heaven and we are given the unction from God to share the Gospel of salvation. Now, we are called to be living Epistle (letters from God) to the world but unfortunately most "Christians" are more concerned with fitting into the world instead of living for Christ and sharing His love with the world (I am not excluded from that remark either because I also need to grow in Christ)

A true christian does not hate and won't force people to believe in Jesus! they just know that alot of the other religions are not according to Gods word, (BIBLE) and out of love they want them to know the truth, what it truely takes to get to heaven, which is through JESUS and no other way!!! When you have the love of God inside of you then it hurts to see people being steered the wrong way. A true christian does not want to see anyone perish! (go to hell.) Jesus did tell all christians to go through out the world and preach the truth, (the truth will set you free!)

A rotten apple spoils the whole basket. I think the minority who hate people are the ones giving this impression. Christians are taught to love everyone and forgive. If they hate then the faith is wrong. Jesus died for all of us , not for Christians or Jews.
Maybe the people that hate are taught or understood the faith wrongly. The best example of faith should be lived not forced.

I have to admit that not all Christians are as they should be. The christian ways are actually to LOVE ALL people completely and to the fullest just as Christ came and died to to love and save ALL people. (and that includes people of other religions) Unfortunately, a lot of Christians come off as being rude, pushy, fake, and downright hatefull.
I am very sorry for your experiences with people of christian faith. I am a christian and I understand what you mean. I know that some of us aren't representing Christ in the right ways. I wish it would be better.
So, to answer your question, I think the American people in general are so influenced by the media and popular culture; so busy trying to fit the form of what the world says they should; so busy with their money, fancy cars, big homes, money, property, and lets not forget money....
.... that they don't even know what Christianity is.

Hold on there, how can you generalize like that, have you met all Christians?
Read some of my answers and see if you can still use the word "hate".
No one is forcing anything. But here is another question, if you had some good news wouldn't you share that with other people?

A Christian is commanded to love...not to hate so if someone is hating...they are not following the teachings of Jesus. As to trying to force others to believe as we do, no one can force you to do anything or to believe anything...either way. The command has also been given to us to tell the whole world about Jesus...and that is what we are supposed to do. Hopefully it is done in the same way that Jesus himself did it. Quietly and respectfully.

Because it's very easy to believe that one's way of thinking is the only correct way and that every other way is wrong. It's difficult to live a good Christian life that leads by example and much easier to just dismiss everyone else as wrong and not bother to discuss one's beliefs in a rational, inoffensive way.
