As far as the kids are concerned. I talk to other mom's outside of dance class and preschool and often times they mention that their husband won't allow something or other. There is one mom who is trying to convince her husband to sign their daughter up for preschool but he doesn't think it's neccesarry and another mom or actually she is a grandma but the main caretaker for this girl whose husband thinks it is to early to get the girl a bike. Just litlle stuff like this and all i can say to them is sometimes men need to be told what to do. They just look at me funny. Is this a foreign concept or is it just me.

It isn't a foreign concept at all, that is why I always laugh when I hear women talk that way. I actually tell my husband one time, if he disagrees I will listen to him, walk away and do it anyhow. My daughter is 4 years old, and we were informed for her dance recital that she should wear a little make up so that the stage lights don't wash her out, my husband flipped out. I just told him to be quiet, it is one night that she is going to wear make up, it isn't like she is going to wear it every day of her life for the rest of her life! He knows not to fight with me over it because I will always win! LOL

it's not a foreign concept at all. i think it depends on the type of man you're married to and how you were raised. my mom was able to make a lot of decisions when i was growing up concerning my brother and I, and I plan to be able to decide a lot of things for mine when he/she is born.

I know my husband well enough to know his opinion on various things. If I know hes not going to agree, I do it anyway and tell him after the fact.

it depends on ur marriage and how u were raised.

also its hard to tell ur husband what to do when he controls the checkbook.

i dont tell my bf what to do i just talk him to death until he sees it my way. i can poke holes in his arugments very easily. thankfully we agree on a lot of stuff about our child. i know a lot of moms who just do it anyway, and they take the heat for it because they kno their kid will benefit. when ur young, who knows u better than ur mom? husbands dont see that. especially when it comes to fathers/daughters. but when it comes time to sign their son up for football or some other dangerous stuff men will have their pen ready.

Some women are just not assertive enough to speak up when a man's opinion is incorrect.

Those ladies just need to be smarter and make their husband believe it was *their* idea.
