Ahankar is the worst ,reason being it because of this drawback that human beings have become separate from god, if humans stop identifying themselves as individuals they will not fall pray to all other vices. Regarding the most beneficial of these kam is most beneficial because of this urge species will reproduce. If u look closely kam is an odd man out in this list. krodh, lobh, moh and ahankar are functions of mind, but kam is a function of body. It is only because of religious fanatics that kam has been included in this list. Otherwise kam belong to the list of bodily needs like hunger, thirst, breathing etc. Hope ur confusion is somewhat lessened. If u want to know more read a few books of Rajnish, who is also called osho.

It's just like giving an option, which is the better one - falling into a 500 foot deep pit, or 600 hundred foot deep pit, or 700 foot deep pit. I don't think it should matter which one is the deepest of all. The fact is that each one of them have negative effects on your soul, and off course on your life.
Kam (Lust): The desire that doess not allow you to follow the right path of life but instead enforces you to involve in part time pleasure of sex.
Krodh (Anger): A feeling developed taht blindens your insight and makes you do anything to that would hurt others. It won't ever allow you to sort out any problem, but infact would be root of plenty other problems in your life.
Lobh (Greed): Again a desire that blindens you. You donot understand what's right and what's wrong. All you care about is satisfying your greed. You won't even realize what's going on with other aspects of your life.
Moh (Blind Love): Love is good, but if in love you keep ignoring the other persons negative aspects, and instead are encouraging those aspects for the fear of loss of the person from your life, you are contributing in disturbing a functional unit of the society. If you love someone, you would accept him with it's traits and try to refine him, try to make him a good human being.
Ahankar (Ego): The belief that if you move out of the system, it would be disturbed. Encouraging this trait would finally land you up in a stage when you are lonely and out of the system, disrespected by each one.
Maya (fakeness): People fall for what others say, or conclude just after understanding a part of an incidence. This is harmful. maya would never allow you to gather complete knowledge. You would be under belief that you know and understand everything and act accordingly. And all of a sudden you would face the situation you never wondered about.
All the best...
:-)

Krodh the anger is to be controlled, if a person possess this bad deed in him/ her he will never be the true follower of god. The only things which changes man into a devil is the anger, he/she will never be able to love and respect any one and will not only lose health but will also be mentally depressed.
Lobh is best in best in relative world as all are in the race of lobh the money and nothing matters for them the money the lobh over comes all other words that is kam krodh lodh moh ahenka.

I think Krodh(anger, hatred), lobh(greed) and bhay(fear) are the three most dangerous things. They can destroy u individually or collectively, we should be always wary of these.
Nothing's good in these list but moh perhaps is the least harmful, but best to avoid it.

Among all these deficiencies, the worst is krodh as it is smouldering fire that burns the body and if in excessive form, can take life as well. Moh is excessive possessiveness or attachment which is too common, and its effect can be felt much later.

The sad ripus (six enemies) are related to each other, since from the unfulfilled Kama (lust) krodha (anger) comes and leading finally to downfall.
When the kama is fulfilled, it leads to lobha (greed), mada (madness).
Bhagavad gita 2.62 &63 mentions:
While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises. From anger, complete delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. When memory is bewildered, intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost one falls down again into the material pool.
