Sounds like youre doing the right thing. A radio is nice too. But make sure your pet sitter spends a little time with them. That will help them a lot.
One thing I did learn is when you come back make sure that you have time to spend with them even though they'll ignore you at first (you left them and they will be prissy). Because one trip I came home but had to go out immediately for an event so I left my bags on my bed and went out. One of my kittys share her opinion by peeing on the suitcases.
So now I dont come into my home until I am ready to spend time and "make up" for my absence.
Good Luck

A caretaker is all that is really necessary. As long as you have more than one cat they will really have all the company they need. They'd probably be quite content living alone forever as long as someone kept coming to give them food and water when they needed it. You could leave the lights on or radio, I guess, but it's not really necessary for their well-being and in the end only a waste of money and energy.

It would be nice if the caretaker could spend some time talking to them and petting them. You should also leave some low level lighting on. This might sound strange, but if you have an answering machine that they could hear, you could leave them a message. When they hear your voice, they'd be comforted. They'll probably sleep most of the time anyway.

The care taker it the biggest thing. Cats are very independent. You might want the care giver to always make sure there is water. That's the biggest thing with cats. A feeding twice a day and litter be done once or every other day. Cats are nocturnal so you need not leave the lights on. Leave something of yours with them that smells like you. It will comfort them and they will less likely be understress.

I leave out extra spots for water, a sweater that I've worn, soft night lights for late night (like when I'm home) but a lamp on a timer that comes on in the evening. I usually leave a radio on, and let my pet sitter know so they aren't freaked when they hear someone talking in the living room.
Be sure to leave your vet's phone numbers in case of emergency, and your contact info for your pet sitter.
Have fun!

The caretaker is really all that's needed. You can leave a radio on, if you'd like, for then the house isn't completely quiet.

Great that you have a pet sitter. I would leave a couple of lights around the area(s) they hang out most in and keep some of your unlaundered clothes for them to have your smell with them.

It sounds like you have it covered with the caretaker. You might want to leave something you have worn so it will have your smell, that might be comforting for them.

This will probably sound silly but I usually leave an article of dirty clothing someplace where they can lie on it for comfort.
