Can the digital take my present lens of Canon FD 50mm l:1.4,
TokinaTeleauto 1:2.8 135mm and Makinon 1:2.8 28mm

Its not possible.....canon has changed the FD's to the EF's mounts while nikon has been maintaining the F-mounts for quite some time.

No. When Canon invented the EF mount 20 years ago they made the decision to focus on new technologies at the expense of backward compatibility.

Nikon, on the other hand, made their F mount backward compatible so new cameras could use old lenses. This meant Nikon owners could upgrade without giving up their lenses, but at the expense of slow adoption of new technologies like hypersonic focus lens motors.

This is a reason why I maintain (and buy) from a local dealer. You can take the camera to their shop and they can test the lenses to see which will work before you buy the camera.

That said, you might find the new digital lenses have a wider range, great image quality, and lighter weight that the older lenses. I understand that you might want to leverage you investment, but don't let that alone stop your leap to digital SLR.

No. FD lenses have been obsolete when they introdued the new EF lenses. You can get an adaptor but no autofocus.
