Just because people do evil in the name of God, doesn't mean that God has anything to do with it.
I can just as easily ask,
How many people have been killed in the name of Athiesm[Soviet Russian government for example]?
God gets blamed for everything.
And His followers get blamed for the evil done by the few that claim to be among their ranks.

I don't know about " in the name of God" but I know that stalin killed over 20 million in the name of"pure communism" and Mao killed over 16 million more in the name of ' social revolution" Hitler killed over 6 million in the name of "genetic purity".And Saddam Hussein killed 1 milllion just cuz he felt like it. 1 million preborn babies are killed each year in the US in the name of feminism and a " womans right to choose"

Many...but you can't blame God for what man does any more than you can blame Satan for what man does. Unfortunately, this free will thing gives us a lot of latitude to commit the most horrible atrocities and make excuses for them.
