Racism is a two way street. I live in LA and if your different you will be attacked by racist. Unfortunately everyone is different in L.A.. You can't avoid it. I remember a speach from Malcolm X. "All men are racist. " I don't know what he meant, but like all speach it ask you to interpret. My interpretation is to look with in , to solve this problem. No man is perfect. The goal is to make yourself a better person, before you try to make others. I try talking to moderates here to step back for a while. Hate generate hate. A mexican is mistreated by his boss, but can't attack his boss, so he attack his community in an attempt to hurt him. He attacks an innocent Caucasian. He gets mad at the Mexican, so he tries to get revenge on him, but the Mexican is long gone, so he attacks the Mexican community in an attempt to hurt the initial Mexican. This is how racism works. Just remember., that "White" kid is an individual and do not represent all caucasians. I do believe the community has a responsibility to police themselves, but my speech is long enough.

Yes, there are those who hold their views on immigration for racial reasons—on both sides of the issue. (For every David Duke, there is a Congressman Gutierrez.)

This does not mean, however, that immigration is a racial issue.

And while the immigration issue does attract racists, it is our experience at ProjectUSA that most of these racists are to be found amongst our pro-mass immigration opponents—in particular, among the ethnic-identity pressure groups and politicians.

To those well-meaning but confused people who insist that immigration is a racial issue, we always ask: "Well, then, since you are absolutely certain one's position on immigration is all about race, what are your racial reasons for supporting this current flood?"

This question often causes confusion.

We believe that the confusion arises from our nation's unfortunate muddle-headedness on issues of race and culture. The current dogma of the "multi-cultural" ideology has convinced many Americans that "culture" and "race" are the same things. Just think of the endless paeans to multiculturalism in advertising, political speech, academia, etc: they are always illustrated by a photo of people of different races.

This is dangerous and wrong.

While a black American and a white American might be different colors, they are equally American, i.e., they share the same culture.

Modern "multi-culturalists" are the true racists when they elevate skin color to a place as primary as culture.

If we have racial problems today how will our problems improve with a half a billion people thanks to over-immigration struggling to survive in an overpopulated country?
Shouldn't we first resolve the racial problems we have instead of continuing with an immigration policy that will double our population and risk exacerbating an already increasing tendency in our country toward group identity politics??

Those who fear racial conflict or the rise of fascism should support, as we do, an immigration time-out in order to take a breather, reassess what we are doing, and give the assimilation magic time to work.

In u.s., there are countless racists; and the detest isn't in undemanding terms geared in the direction of Mexicans. that's geared in the direction of all of us. a on a similar time as returned, individuals hated on the interior reach individuals, chinese language, jap, Irish, African-individuals, etc. Now the nice and cozy matters for racism are those from the midsection East and Mexicans. for my area, i don't hate on human beings through fact of race, nor do I refuse to actual get to be responsive to the guy often. i think of that's undemanding stupid to look down on somebody in keeping with ethnicity. Hell, we are all a blend of diverse cultures. what's the ingredient on hating on others?

It's funny how you did not say illegal immigration, yet many of the responders did. That basically shows me that when people hear the word "Mexican" or "Hispanic", immediately they think "illegal!"
Can I suggest something to you? When posting a question, write carefully and check your spelling, because unfortunately, many white Americans have the impression that us Latinos are dumb and ignorant, but you should prove them otherwise.
Now...there is racism towards Hispanics. How many people from Europe and Asia overstay their visas? What about the Asian & Middle Eastern business owners who only hire their own, and form their own little worlds. Yet, Hispanics are given hell simply for speaking Spanish (when in fact Spanish has been spoken in this country for a long time)

RESPONSE TO i love usa (first answer):

You stated that Mexicans create murderous criminal gangs...excuse but who says that is something to only be associated with Mexicans? Don't whites, blacks, asians, and so on? And that Mexicans have the highest pregnancy rate because Mexicans are too stupid to use birth control? May be statistics do not show the full and accurate pregnancy rates of your race because all the girls of your race are sleeping with researchers so that they will not be included! Did that ever cross your mind? Another thing, the kids running around at the supermarket, last time I checked that was not illegal and neither is waving another nation's flag in the U.S. Honey, the bottom line here is that, well, you are ignorant and are obviously not well informed in this field. You seem to have the mentality of a child; therefore, please refrain from answering questions such as this one if you are incapable of giving worthy and intelligent opinion. In my case, I had to step down to your level to communicate with you so that you could comprehend and grasp the concept I was trying to get across to you!

About the job ordeal...I have heard that Mexicans are taking away the jobs of the legal individuals that live here in the U.S., well if the legals really wanted those jobs they would not be so available as they are/were in the first place!

Another thing, this country never originally belonged to the anglos! In reality, this country belongs to the Native Americans! Everyone else came from another country, so please stop claiming it as "your" country!

I don't think they are. I realize there are some morons like the ones in your example that may make racist comments. But most Americans are simply against illegal immigration - not against Mexicans.

The problem is that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are from Mexico. Therefore when Americans speak out against illegal immigration, Mexicans take it personally and believe it to be racist. It is not a racist issue - it is a legal one.

People are just really pissed off right now, because the majority of those marching for rights they don't deserve are Mexican. I mean it's not their country and they have the audacity to demand something. It makes no sense.

I don't condon racism or using racial slurs, so it's not excused, but i suppose that's the explanation

I have been an American for going on 27 years, and have never used any of the racial slurs you suggest. I have, however, seen Mexican American comedians use them on TV.
