I know that weather temperatures ( specifically winter time, you see I'm not a big fan of freezing cold ) vary all across canada. It might be cool in one place and colder in another. How cold does it get during winter? How long does it stay that way? Now, How warm does it get in summer?

Where is the cheapest place to live and settle? and where is the cost of living high? highest? I'm thinking of moving to Australia with my family. thanks

If you are thinking of moving to Canada and you wish to move to an area with the mildest climate - then think about the West Coast in British Columbia. Both the capital city, Victoria, and Vancouver have the warmest climate of all the major cities in Canada. It rarely snows here, just in the local mountains. But, be prepared for a lot of rain during the winter months. Because we have a temperate climate - spring starts early here usually in March while the rest of the country is still getting snow. Canada has the coldest winter temperatures on the prairies (mainly in Saskatchewan and Manitoba) and the nicest weather year round in British Columbia.

Ontario and Quebec tend to be cold in winter with lots of snow, but also muggy in summers (90F with high humidity in August)

The maritimes are cooler in summer but the extremes in January and August are not as bad as elsewhere.

Now that you have a rough idea of the weather in Canada, I hope you have a good time in Australia! O,o

First of all Avalentin911 is a dumb%&&… Canada is so bloody large… weather patterns change all the time.. Some areas like Alberta can have all four seasons in one day. It has happened many, many times …. Sure it gets cold, yet its pretty dam easy to warm up too. Proper clothing and common sense do a huge role.

GST all across Canada its been changed down to 6% on every dollar spent.. Some provinces have a Provincial Tax

Cost of living is becoming high everywhere in Canada.. BC is high because of the lack of jobs and where the jobs are the market sky rockets (Vancouver is a prime example)..

Alberta- Huge work boom here lack of housing so rents and buying property is high. Yet no Provincial taxes like other places. Everyone all across is moving here to get in the bucks… Rockies are here.. Along with some of the best Hunting and fishing spots…

Sask- is still not bad at all. As a matter of fact they want people to move back so wages are going up with a number of larger companies, cost of living is pretty low compared to the rest… Northern Sask has fantastic Fishing and Camping and not so flat like the rest of that province.

Manitoba is well … They tend to get the worst for weather as far as Western Canada goes… Cost of living isn’t bad there either… Winnipeg (capital there) isn’t that great seems like a good hiding spot for people wanted... Mind you so are parts of BC Kamloops for one.. Some really great fishing is here too… Some beautiful spots in the north.

Ontario- is also on the increase for people moving there.. Some great jobs and is pretty nice… town life is pretty good from what I have heard. I don’t know much about Ontario never been there myself.

Quebec… well they have Montreal…lol... And some great history but isn’t Canada’s favourite place (political reasons)

East Coast... Wow just beautiful there period. They get some of the worst of the weather... The last couple of years so many snow storms… It’s crazy… Work force is very low.. A number of them have moved to Alberta… really sad to see actually…

Northwest Territories, Yukon and that entire area.. No if you don’t like cold you wont like it.. Also two times a year Mother nature plays a nasty joke on the system.. 2 weeks of total darkness… 2 weeks of total sunlight… Mind you some of the best sites and people live up there.. Beautiful area period.

Really to find what your looking for best to do searches.. Your needs will be different then mind and pretty much different from anyone else’s responses. The weather itself is pretty easy to adjust too.. Plus it truly does make it beautiful to look at.. Not the same all year round. Being outside on a cold day.. coming in to hot chocolate, fire and a blanket.. while looking outside at the snow is one hell of a peaceful feeling. It makes you feel warm inside.
