I'm an atheist. Here's why:
Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.
How terrible the bible in particular is:

What's the origin of the Jesus stories?

Atheist. Went to faith schools as a child but rejected religion on seeing the way believers could justify any behavior by asking their god for forgiveness and then repeating the offence.
All you need to know about the world's great religions can be found in the Middle East where jews are fighting christian and muslim arabs- christian americans are fighting muslim arabs - muslims are fighting muslims who don't agree with their version of the truth.
This sort of thing has been going on for centuries and they still consider themselves to be moral people with a high code of ethics.
I don't think so.

A true christian doesn't kill.
Killing doesn't go by what we believe in.
It's against the Ten Commandments.
There is plenty of evidence all around,
that there is God.
Go to church one day.
and tell me there isn't this feeling in your heart.
this tugging.
its God.
many religions believe in Jesus.
He's a prophet.
muslims aren't muslims unless they believe in every prophet.
hinduism has stories of a messiah (Jesus)
and a lot more.
"for God so loved the world that he gave his only son. that whoever so believes in him will not perish but have eternal life"

I am Kemetic Orthodoxy. I am Kemetic because after being a Christian most of my life I finally found something that feels right to me. I didn't ever feel right in any Christian church. I took classes and learned about my religion. I felt good with it and so I joined. That was almost 5 years ago and I don't have any regrets.

I am me... a 4Th+ generation witch but I also have a Jewish and christian background. I tried being one or another but I always felt I was denying a part of who I am. Today I embrace all the facets of me. Acknowledging that there are going to be those who feel who and what I am is wrong. I am happy just being me.

Christian.
part of it is my upbringing. and part of it is just my personal faith in jesus. I think god gives us a conscience and a gut feeling where we can tell right from wrong and truth from lies. obviously you have to listen to that feeling for it to work and identify it for what it is.
I don't belive in organized religion and I don't believe in all of the bible. I think some is the words of god but other parts are word of the human male. I think I can prove that some parts are fake and some are real- but I admit most of it is on faith
I do think jesus was for peace and many of his quotes were real- I can offer some validity because the roman empire definatly would want to kill some one like that.
I seperate my politics and my religion. and god understands that.

A lot of atrocities are done in the name of God. However, that does not mean that God condoned them.
To see why I'm a Christian take a peek at the test below.

I'm an agnostic because, after years of pondering religion, I'm thoroughly convinced that none of the thousands of One True Faiths has even a remote grasp of Ultimate Reality...
