Why is that some people think they can commit all the sins they want and still be Christian? I know that Jesus will forgive us when we ask for it, but does that mean we should sin more to receive more grace? Absolutely not we are to avoid sin at ALL cost.
Also how can some say that ALL ROADS LEAD TO HEAVEN, when it is clear that Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me."

The Bible makes it clear... that Salvation is not a license to sin.
It also makes it clear that we are not saved by our own good deeds.
It also says that we are saved by God's grace{Christ} alone.
It also commands us to do good, as evidence that we are saved.
Those who claim to be in Him must walk as Jesus did.
That is why I try to live as Christ did...
Im not saying that Im perfect.. or that I no longer sin.
Im a sinner saved by grace... not a practicing sinner saved by grace.

As a youngster I prayed for salvation. I was 4 years old. Too young for it to matter. One must be mature enough to understand the wisdom and the ramifications of the choice they need to make. If someone as a child prays for forgiveness and salvation then as they grow perhaps they think they are safe because they did it while they were small. Trouble is the youth are already safe because they can't possibly understand what exactly it means to truly and sincerely make that choice for themselves.
I was one of those sayin I was Christian, believing I was safe and runnin amuck for many years. I might have been the reason some people I came in contact with believe Christianity is Hypocrisy because I had no idea what I was saying or doing. I may have led many away from the very cause I now live for. Having become a Christian only a month ago I can see the error of my ways and I am much different. I can't imagine going back into the ugly life I left behind.
It is my belief that perhaps those who sin and think they are safe maybe are not. Perhaps they truly believe as I did they are saved when in fact they are not. A true Believer feels shame when they mess up . Any normal human being doesn't want to feel shame for anything so generally they live their lives as an example for others and as if God is right there with them where ever they are. As a non Believer I felt very little shame and I messed up a lot because God was in Heaven somewhere looking down and seeing me from time to time. But He was only there when I wanted Him there. The difference truly is night and day.

I don't know any Christian, nor have I ever met one, that lives their life just to commit sin because they'll still be saved regardless of how much they sin. A believer becomes a new creature, old things are passed away, all things are become new. When we surrender to Jesus, the Holy Spirit abides within us to teach us and guide us in a new kind of walk, a new kind of life in Christ. We are changed. Our desires are changed. What we want out of life is changed. We see things in a new way.......with an eternal purpose. It doesn't mean we never sin again, but it means the Holy Spirit will bring it to our attention and we will not get pleasure from any sin we commit now. In fact, it will grieve the Holy Spirit and become a burden to us until we repent and ask God's forgiveness. We can't loose our salvation but sin still separates us from fellowship with a Holy God. As a Christian our heart seeks to please God, not like we were before...when we only sought to please ourselves. We truly are a new creature in Christ.
As to "all roads lead to heaven"............that is not a Christian belief at all and you won't hear that preached in a Christian church. We believe the road is narrow that leads to heaven....in fact we believe the only way to heaven is through the shed blood of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I've never heard anything else attributed to the Christian faith, so I don't know where you could have assumed that is a Christian saying. I hope you have a better understanding of these two things now and sincerely hope I've explained them clearly. God bless you.

hi, this is me oyinda. i added you to my contacts, (just to let you know)because you seem wise. anyway to your question i agree with you. it's like you call yourself a christian yet you act as unbelievers do. one girl in my class said that it's ok to sin as long as you repent. that's not true. every time you sin it's like putting jesus back on the cross
-paul
the bible said the those who sin have not seen the Lord nor know Him. to be a Christian you have to believe and trust in the Lord.
Trust and obey for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey.

I agree with you. I was under the assumption that when you ask Jesus into your life you are changed so your life and choices would reflect this.
As for the "all roads lead to heaven", I believe this to be wishy-washy Christians who don't know their bible and have no heart change.

Grace is free but it is not cheap. Jesus paid it all and we were brought with a price what is cute at 18 is not so cute at 30. We are called to be mature, complete not lacking anything James 1:4.I agree with your post. You ask questions that cause people to think and that is good as a Christian we all should be alive, awake, alert and aware see Ephesians 6 whole chapter. Peace be with you E4G.

Because it hard to give up sins. It takes letting go of everything you have and everything you are.....You need to be filled with the Spirit. Smith Wigglesworth said it to the effect of you need to be so full of His Spirit there is no room for anything else, all you desire is to serve Him.
And the thief comes to kill and destroy...anyone who doesn't enter by the gate is a thief. People think they can sneak over the fence without going by way of the gate. And they ignore the Way, the Truth and the Life. thinking their own way is better.

I totally agree with you on the sin thing, we will commit them eventually because we are flawed, but we shouldn't go and SEEK them out. That's backwards to what the bible teaches!
As far as people saying that, they want to believe that no matter what they do they'll get into heaven. It's their defense in a way. They want to think they are a good person and deserve to get into heaven. They don't relize that nothing they can do will get them in. Nothing. They wan't WANT to be "under control" of God. They don't like the idea of someone having authority and subverting to it willingly. It's natural human behavior, many believers go through this as well in a way, I did when I first heard the message, but after years of asking questions and arguing, I took a step out on a limb and saw the truth. Everyone wants to believe they are getting the ultimate reward, no matter how bad they are in reality. No matter how many "white lies" they've told. A lie is a lie, you shouldn't be doing it at all for any reason. They don't like conviction because it makes them feel bad and points out their faults. They don't relize it's GOOD to have your flaws pointed out, once you see them and accept them, God can start to work with you to FIX them if you seek Him.

People who believe they can continue sinning as often and as badly as they wish because they believe in the existance of God/Jesus are misinterpreting the meaning of grace. You are correct that we are to avoid sinning as much as is humanly possible.

when i read the scripture that Paul wrote, "to continue to commit sin, because of the grace that Jesus bought, is to put Him back on the cross"
paraphrased, by George.
It was like every time I sinned it was causing more suffering to Jesus, in truth, Jesus is no longer on the cross but us taking His suffering for granted just so we can continue to sin, is still making his suffering and the sacrifice he made for us of less significance.
