He could have pulled his hamstrings. Ice packs, rest and/or possible surgery depending on the severity of the injury. Possible prevention is to stretch before participating in the sport.

Torn hamstring? Diagnosis would be staying off it for a while, depending on the severity of the tear. Treat like any muscle tear or pull. Prevent by stretching prior to activity.

Still need to see a Dr....

I would think low back sprain/strain. If the pain continues down the leg, possible herniation. If it stays in the buttocks, inflammation is likely causing the pain. Take Ibuprofen, heat pack to increase blood circulation.

Sound like he pulled his Hamstring muscle.
Common in sports injuries.
No cure, just walk for a while, no full on sports or else it would just hurt.
About 2 Weeks no hockey....if he does play, don't skate much, or you won't heal quick..
Treatment, Fireice gel, Voltaren Gel, Anything that numbs the pain. Easily curable with time so don't panic..

I would guess a pulled ham string. Could be a nerve in the back, but I feel as if it is a pulled ham string.
Would be good to visit a reputable chiropractor and
Have a visit with regular physician.

It is your sciatic nerve that is bothering you. A physical therapist could give you some exercises to relieve the pain. Worst case scenario to will need surgery for a ruptured disc in your back, which is impinging on the nerve. See a doctor.

Pinched nerve and likely in the lower back that is radiating out into the leg.
