About 0.2% of the prison population is atheist while about 3-10% of the general population. We are the most underrepresented category there is.

I can answer this question from personal knowledge as I am a corrections officer. There are many non believers in prison. In fact, even many of those who profess to be Christian or another religion are non believers in reality as their actions to not show a good example of what their faith teaches. When you are around these men all the time, it doesn't take long to see who really believes in God and who doesn't. Statistically, a great many inmates go to chapel services on a regular basis. However, take it from one who knows...most go to exchange information and contraband with inmates from other areas of the facility...not to worship.

I loved K-Style's answer. Everyone in prison finds some religion. Even the most nastiest person in prison believes in God and Satan. If they aren't praying to God they are praying to Satan.

very few, mostly because the religious fanatics say it was god who told them to steal that egg because it was corrupt and the atheist just buys the egg.
